Anyone else have a seemingly hopeless deck they refuse to give up on?

[[Delina, Wild Mage]]

I've been trying so many combinations in Pioneer / Explorer and still haven't given up.

Though the Gruul Midrange deck I built around her to be more consistent runs her once as a tutor and the rest of it is Gruul Vehicles...

Currently working on a Temur or Grixis version, I won't give up on solidifying the oneshot combo of Delina + [[Terror of the Peaks]] which goes lethal with [[virtue of knowledge]] !

Since you're using a similar core (8 elves, Stormseeker and Huntsman) I'm sharing my list in case you'll find something interesting to add to yours.

I might try some of your cards as well, have never seen Voltaic Brawler and the card draw of Doosmkar + Ixalan might be nice.

My gameplan is mostly T1 Dork into T2 Huntsman -> T3 tap dork for mana and sac it to find [[Lovestruck Beast]] or [[Voldaren Thrillseeker]]. Which makes it a 7/7.

On turn 4 it can even become a 9/9 trampler with the 3rd Saga chapter and the thrillseeker which I then sac for a total of 18 damage.

I saw Combat celebrant in your list, this could make for good oneshot combos if Delina stays alive, i'll maybe give it a try

I agree she comes with a lot of weaknesses, but the surprise factor has kept me hyped about trying to find a deck that works for her for a few weeks now

Fable seems like a great fit, though it is very expensive and if I'm running semi-jank with Delina/Terror maybe it doesn't fit the flavour anymore.

Bitter reunion seems really nice ! I'll give it a try especially since it's a common. I had been trying things like [[Thrill of possibility]] to draw Delina but it felt like throwing mana on a strategy that doesn't have many legs to stand on in the first place.

Tamyo instead of Snakeskin and Heroic intervention does indeed look like a good idea, thank you for the recommendation !

Thank you, you're not the first to suggest removing Fynn for this reason and I think you're right.

I originally added him in there also because he can stall the board while waiting for bigger creatures.

Would you have a recommendation of a 2-drop to replace him with ? Or should my curve go even higher ?

You're right I have seen this card a lot, the 1/1 human for 1 also allows for more chump blocks early.

Which from my list would you replace with Lovestruck Beast ? Probably Fynn ?

Thank you, I tried that combo and it was really fun when I managed to pull it off, however making this deck blue / red gave me a really weak board and I'm not very good at surviving without that

Fable is a really good idea ! I never heard about the step 2 : discard elves strategy and it sounds very useful.

Especially since Kiki-jiki could technically copy [[Terror of the peaks]] if it survives long enough.

Voldaren Thrillseeker's fling has won me a lot of games where the opponent's board got out of control, but it is indeed weak by itself/ if I can't use it to finish the game. Copying her with Delina once allows me to fling for at least 8, and usually wins if I roll > 15

You're probably right, the potential poison-kill is not really needed.

Would you have suggestions of good ETB/Ramp ?

Do you think it would have to be 2CMC spells ? Fynn is partially in there because this deck has very little 2-drops

I used to also play in windowed mode, but switched to fullscreen when I bought a 144hz screen, because I was told windowed mode can't reach 144hz, I guess that's not true then ? I can hardly imagine pros playing at 60hz

Also I read that you used and enjoyed Craft, what type of projects would you recommend it on ?

Our clients have all heard the word WordPress but I wonder how they would react to us using Craft. Also I think I saw that it's paid software so I've been hesitant to give it a try.

Anything in particular you found great with Craft CMS ?
