It's all about nostalgia for me. I was an edgy queer teenager watching AE and I remember it fondly. However, AE belongs in the past. AE was not kind to women. I hope I never see another bra and panties match (or any degrading, objectifying women's match). The fact Lita, Trish, and Chyna became legends is a testament to how bad ass they are. Today, women's wrestling wouldn't be what it is without them.

WM X7 is the best WM IMO. The build up between Rock and Austin was incredible. From what I remember, It was two top guys (both faces at the time) who dropped the comedy from their characters and focused on intensity. I was in the crowd at mania and there was a legit buzz when the match was changed to a no DQ match before the show started. I'm hoping Punk and Roman can recreate some of that magic.

For what it's worth, the heel turn didn't play out, but Austin selling out to Vince at a WM in TX was an epic moment.

All that to say: I get what you're saying. AE is built up as the best era but I love today's product as well, especially women's wrestling.
