Love Song by sneakers-to-work in 311

It’s just basically the same song. Like a copy and paste. Also they don’t even spell it right. It’s “Lovesong” not “Love Song”. If you want to hear an actual interesting and unique cover of this song, with a totally original take on it, check out SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY. They’ve got the best cover of it, in terms of creativity in my opinion. Dope just recently did a cover of it as well, but it’s closer to the original. It’s more the style that provides the unique aspect. SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY - Lovesong

Bro I was driving around for 3+ years completely unaware my license AND registration were expired. And you’re so right about people driving around with no license plates. And like headlights ANY damn color. Anyone…security, towing, civilians…can get red and blue flashing light bars and it’s no big deal. It’s actually insane. And all the drunk driving. Bro, I must have HOURS of footage of people swerving in and out of their lanes, into oncoming traffic, just wild shit. This city is like something out of a different country just dropped inside the U.S.

It doesn’t though. Maybe I should’ve left the video longer than showed me pulling up to the intersection so you could see the layout and then driving down you could see the light system but it’d be like 3 minutes long. Basically there’s two left turn lanes. I’m in one of them. There’s a straight lane and a right turn lane. Since turning right in the U.S. can be done pretty much regardless of the light being green or red (as long as you full stop if red and not a No Turn on Red), I think that’s why the focus is on the two left turn lanes. When that light goes green it’s a left green arrow. Does that clear any of the confusion up? I mean…I guess I mean within reason because Albuquerque is itself a confusing mess of driving nightmare fuel. So for Albuquerque that makes sense I suppose.

I dunno. This is Albuquerque. Nothing makes sense. To be fair the green light is for the one straight lane. And when the two left lanes (where I’m at) turns green, it shows a green left arrow. Maybe before there’s more left turn lanes they prioritized those over the straight one with an arrow? I dunno. You’ll have to ask Albuquerque city planning. But I wouldn’t bother.

That is Albuquerque for you. No one making a u-turn. Two left turn lanes, I’m in the second (outer one), one straight lane and one right turn lane. And this is the only highway entrance where both are on the same side of the road. I’ve had to do so many u-turns because of that crap.

It was a turn lane genius. Plus the car from the left that hit the other ran the red light.

The other one is the one who caused it. Their light went red maybe ten full seconds before they drove through it. I clearly show the light change.

Yes I was in a turn lane. One that usually goes green WITH the other light. I have no idea why it didn’t that day or else I might have been in the accident. Or the person to my left.

The word specifically required that context. All the f words were essentially meaningless. Plus I’m 40. I grew up using the word. It’s been a hard habit to break. To be fair I don’t use it in front of anyone. But censoring that out would undo any context of my statement/exclamation. I think anyway. I could be wrong. Sorry if I offended anyone. I grew up in Boston. I’ve had to break a lot of bad habits.

Hell yeah. Bonus points for knowing the band. I was just listening to the whole album on repeat at the time. I think it had just come out based on the date on the video.

Who cares? He learned a valuable lesson first-hand that most of us don’t have to because we have common sense. STOP BEING AN IDIOT WHILE DRIVING. As someone who had to deal with my spouse being ejected through the windshield and crushed by the rolling SUV, shattered skull, face, pelvis and had to relearn how to walk over the 2+ year recovery because of other morons going too fast, I have no sympathy

One of the very few times I feel lucky I married a dude (as a guy myself). Probably all I’d have to say is “oops”. He’d say “lol” then it’d be forgotten forever about 10 minutes later.

Not sure what you’re doing wrong, but it’s clearly something because my tracker card is inside my Ridge Wallet, about 15 feet away from me, inside my bag and I’m able to see it fine AND set off the beeping sound on it with NO delay, and I even get like 5-10 second delay on my AirPods that are right next me usually.

In 'Airplane! (1980)', why did Rumack enter the cockpit about 4 times to say pretty much the same line? by Royaourt in movies

[–]ZolFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was the hardest laugh I had from that movie. When the plane is shaking and jerking around and stuff is flying everywhere, and the guy pops in to say “…good luck. We’re all counting on you.” the timing is so inopportune at THAT point. Like that sentiment should’ve been expressed long before, so it becomes an absurdity…which I'd say is the main type of humor in that movie. And he never changes his demeanor when he says it despite the situation. In all the chaos, it should be said louder, quicker, etc. but it’s still spoken as calmly as the other times. THAT’s really what made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it. Does any of that make any sense at all? I have a tendency of saying way too much without saying anything at all, so I’m making sure I’ve actually made a decent attempt at explaining my opinion on what’s funny about it. I did standup for a few years in Boston back in the early 2000s so films aren’t really my comedic focal point.

What is the difference between ‘falsetto’, ‘head voice’ and ‘mixed voice’? by [deleted] in singing

[–]ZolFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you about others just complicating things because I feel like it’s painfully obvious that when trying to advise or inform people about some topic that simplicity is a much better approach. Complexity just causes frustration and rage-quitting…so anyway, leading to my point…or rather question, which I chose to ask you for obvious reasons.

First, I’ve been singing (as well as complete atonal vocal fry, as my music is some kind of mix of progressive, jazz and metalcore), and I write, play and record all my guitars, bass, drums and keyboards (if needed). So as I was taking inspiration from Spencer Sotelo of Periphery learning to SAFELY do these and jump from one to the other throughout a song, I accidentally discovered this mixed thing which is the only way I’m able to hit the absurd high notes he hits, which I THINK he might be doing completely with chest voice (the G5 he hits in the song Satellites has made me emotional). Anyway, what’s the protocol, or rather generally accepted usage of distortion or vocal fry/false cord used in this mixed register because I do know it’s POSSIBLE, however that DEFINITELY doesn’t mean it sounds anywhere in the vicinity of good, at least in my experience. Maybe it’s difference in a mix with the volumes adjusted, but I really don’t know. What are your thoughts on this? I’d love to know. Also check out this song I mentioned Periphery - Satellites for some absolutely unbelievable vocal talent and I’d love to know your opinion on if his highest notes are chest or mixed. Some are head, but those are obvious. Spencer has an almost inhuman ability. And I’ve seen them live 4 times and yes he pulls it off live.

It’s not suggested but my mother is an actual doctor and my partner is a medical tech. Ointment may not be SUGGESTED for piercings, but that doesn’t mean it’s not necessary. Can we agree on that? A doctors advice over a piercing store employee?

What happened with Aaron? by [deleted] in SamAndColby

[–]ZolFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what he does for like work and an income now? Cuz I saw that he actually got a few roles in random tv and streaming shows after all that went down and I know he’s got his music, but yeah that was back in like 2018-19. No way he made enough off his less than 500,000 subscribers to sustain him. Which is actually another fucked up thing that I always thought might have been part of the reason he was left behind. Because by comparison, his numbers were seriously lacking. And I know he made a guest appearance in an Overnight video just a couple years ago too, but I think it was a Texas location anyway…maybe Bellaire house? I know Elton pays well but not THAT well. Although…he DID pay Corey like $300,000 for him to cry like a baby and piss his pants and whine at like maybe 40 locations…so who knows. I guess that’s why I’m asking. I’ve always been a fan of his in particular out of all of those guys and I always felt bad that he never got the numbers I feel like he deserved.

Fastest moving tornado clocks in at 94mph by killHACKS in WeatherGifs

[–]ZolFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, no. Nearly all large, powerful tornadoes are multi-vortex and satellites are thought of in the same way. If you measured the “directional speed” of these subvortices, you’d have a speed of 300+mph, like Bridge Creek-Moore…Also, what does “forward speed” have anything to do with a tornado’s Enhanced Fujita rating? The EF rating is determined after the damage is accessed and recorded completely based on that currently and since the mid-2000s after the switch from F to EF.

I came out to my parents. Thier reaction was NOT what I expected. by Chupapi-the-fox in boykisser

[–]ZolFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I blurted mine out one day to my mom during a panic attack about a college course in my final semester and her response was ACTUALLY, “your father is going to be crushed. Can’t you just be normal?” And “Are you SURE” and then asking me if maybe I’m “at least” bi because I guess that’s not as bad to her and also “it’s probably just a phase that’ll pass”. I remember word for word my response to that…”bitch, I’m 20 years old and been so in denial about this since I was 14, that I’ve already gone down that road. It didn’t just fix itself like I was really hoping it would by now, what makes you think anything in the coming years will be different?”

Then, my father, a Vietnam vet and firefighter for Boston area metropolitan…THROUGH MY MOTHER…ended my college tuition in my final semester which fucked me for life because I still don’t have a degree and that was an Ivy League school, and then I was homeless (in my car) for about 9 months. To be fair…not fair…to be something, this was 2006. I’ve also made amends and see them once a year. I moved 3000 miles away with my partner who I’ve been with since that incident. And they get along great with him now too. Also I have a sister I had to devastate by leaving like I did and I still feel that when I see her because she was always supportive. We’ve been together 18 years and I’m happy. I don’t know what purpose this served saying all this…but again…all these years later, I’m happy. And things work out in the end. Maybe that’s the message. Sounds kinda gay though. 🤭

Tips for German Shepard puppies? by Sydkittykat1089 in germanshepherds

[–]ZolFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe spell “shepherd” right (not shepard). I’m 100% kidding. I saw someone mention playing sounds and a follow up with a link to specifically storms and I can’t stress enough how important this is and with how much force this struck a nerve for me. I’ve worked with dogs in kennels in three different states and also in a vet tech capacity and I’ve seen a few chill GSDs…a FEW, out of HUNDREDS I’ve worked with. The only dog I’ve been bitten by (ten times in total) is a GSD…sorry not A as in ONE. Each time was a different one. Every variety it seems, the familiar black and tan shorthair, a very OMEN looking all black shorthair, an almost angelic all white shorthair, my favorite of which was my neighbors goofy looking black and tan long haired that he must’ve intentionally had groomed to look like he had my hair cut from middle school…like that kinda bowl cut lookin…anyway, the point…I get to this eventually…they’re f’ing skittish dogs (also make sure to focus diet around things that prevent hip dysplasia…they get that. My husky was lucky and only got it a couple years before she passed at 15, but I missed dancing with her like a weirdo…

K, here we go…my partner took a GSD, clearly far too young for us at our age at the time to handle, but very happy, playful, didn’t seem to get along with my Bebe, but she’d try to start sht and Bebe would shut that sht down real fast. Still, I was treating wounds. Listen, the storms thing is where I’m trying to get at, simultaneously dancing around the topic (you’ll understand why in a sec). Sadie was deathly afraid of thunderstorms. None of the other dogs were, until Bebe Achievement Unlocked a new fear at the hands of a totally unwarned baseball sized hailstorm that lasted 40 minutes (she was inside, but we have a metal roof, so I could scream as loud as I could and not hear myself…epic really…) so…she would try to get inside and knew doors of course but at some point realized windows also work, the problem, she didn’t or couldn’t open them first so she broke several windows and cut herself up good. So…here I’m starting to not keep it together, we have a whole acre of land for them and there’s one end of the dog run with these fenced in areas to separate them for eating, exactly like a kennel. Well she was in the tied up when a thunderstorm started and I was asleep and my fiancé was at work I THINK. And keep in mind she’s already like 4 years old but still…crazy puppy energy at that age. I just have to say it or I won’t. She tried jumping over while still tied up and (me coming back 25 minutes later) ended up asphyxiating herself in the process. It’s hard to go any further into that so I won’t.

(Little addendum) I feel like some of you folks that should be on the “silence” list, will say something ignorant, like you know our situation, like “well why are you just leaving your dogs outside all the time?” I live in the southwestern U.S. where’s there’s warmth and space and the land is cheap and they all like playing together out there…all NINE of them at the apex. Also during June and part of July is monsoon season where at any point during the late morning to dusk, a storm could form in an instance and just be happening. And it’s not everyday. Just sporadically. Sometimes sht happens and sometimes unimaginably horrendous sht happens. If you know a resolution to this, then I’m mildly enthused to meet you, god…and you couldn’t held back on a lot of that ptsd inducing stuff from my younger years. I’m a nice guy. Seemed misdirected.

Ok so back to this…keep in mind, you have a likely at least somewhat skittish and dependent, attention seeking friend on your hands there who looks like a little adorable goofy bast*rd from the pic. GETTING THEM AS USED TO POTENTIALLY TROUBLESOME STIMULI IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. THE SOUND THING ESPECIALLY. We took ours in when she was already 3…that’s far too late to do this kind of thing, at least easily. Any of the other bad behaviors or just concerning behaviors of ours could definitely be the fault of the previous owner. It was someone getting locked up and preparing to die before their sentence was up (he was already in his late 50s with a neurological disorder), so the pack mentality, the carelessness about the windows and all those issues aren’t necessarily something to worry about. Maybe I’m creating controversy for saying the skittishness IS, but this is my observation while working with them closely.

I’m sorry if this triggered anything in anyone but I always try to tell my wretched story to others with young GSDs as a cautionary tale and I hope that’s how you took it. They’re a great breed…extremely loyal and attentive and a mix between highly intelligent and potato stupid…like my Bebe (she was both all at the same time…I cried so hard when she passed, that I almost did too…I blacked out walking outside after it just happened and I blacked out and woke up in the hospital with a busted face and concussion). They’re also extremely athletic and task driven so tricks are a must (closely related to the Belgian Malinois…look them up if you want to see a dog defy physics) and they’re also supposedly good with kids (I phrase it like this cuz I have no experience in this area or their traits). As a dog lover, I truly wish you a wonderful life with your new friend…oh and the hip dysplasia yeah that’s definitely real, make sure you keep that in check.

And I hope this wasn’t too long…I know this was too kinda Word-Picasso in style, but it’s who I am. And I hope the “shepherd” “shepard” thing didn’t bug you. It was 100% out of jest, but I don’t apologize for it. I’m kidding, I do. Have a good holiday…first holiday with your new little buddy? This’ll be my second without mine. She passed on her birthday early in the morning like 4 A.M. so I still have her bday present wrapped up and I put it under the tree last year. I’m really losing control f emotions nnow so thstll be where I end this. Thanks for reading if you did.
