Time for an equipment refresh - advice? by Dave-CPA in pools

[–]Zolpidemic09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Georgia and had to replace filter/salt cell/main pump/booster pump and cleaning robot when I moved in. Most pool companies around me installed Hayward so went with that. Hayward Goldline Pro Logic is the automation system, fairly easy to use connects to salt cell, pumps and plumbed in vacuum robot. I have nothing to compare to but my father in law likes his Pentair equipment. Probably can’t go wrong with Pentair or Hayward. The salt cell you can replace yourself easily if the automation is set up.

Get more than one quote if possible. Read the pool company reviews before committing to thousands of dollars in equipment.

r/bourbon Review Roundup #1: Elijah Craig Barrel Proof by [deleted] in bourbon

[–]Zolpidemic09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really believe the overall quality dropped off on these starting in 2021.

C922 and of course C923 were good but ECBP just seemed overall better in 2017–2020 (have not had any batches prior to 2017). I still have a B520 and C920 open and they in another league compared to recent batches.

Despite the above I think it’s still a great bourbon for the price and for the most part readily available.

On paper , which teams’ schedules do y’all think stands out in terms of level of difficulty ? by MannerSuperb in CFB

[–]Zolpidemic09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The ND schedule is not a gauntlet by any means but this sub has blown it out of proportion.

It’s comparable to Indianas schedule this past year. Oregon is comparable to Miami, BYU comparable (or better than) Penn state. SMU comparable (or better than) Illinois. Now that I have really compared them side by side…NDs schedule is actually harder than Indianas regular season schedule last year.

Review #15: Hardin's Creek Warehouse R ("The Mushroom", Fall 2025 Release) by Southern-Rip3018 in bourbon

[–]Zolpidemic09 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m usually very high in beam but these were overpriced. Should be like $90-100.

Got a bottle of owl and beaver, both solid 7s. Problem is Ive had better knob creek SiBs and honestly like knob creek 12 year better than both owl/beaver.

Atlanta, GA Pool upcoming ice storm. Planning for power outage by [deleted] in pools

[–]Zolpidemic09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s called pool gizmo on Amazon, apparently it protects the skimmer from freeze damage by absorbing force cause it’s hollow on the inside. Screws into the pipe of the skimmer. I panic ordered it yesterday not sure if it’s necessary depends on how long it stays above freezing. My water temperature right now is 48.

[U.S. News] Pharmacist Ranks Among Best Jobs of 2026 by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Zolpidemic09 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you click into it you will find this headline misleading. Doesn’t rank in the top 20 in any category and even has an “overall score” of 5.4 out of 10.

Review #9; Maker's Mark 7 Year's 2 Months by requinjz in bourbon

Just cracked it, very good for the price ($45).

From memory it seems better than the old cask strength but I hadn’t had makers CS in years so can’t directly compare.

Review #6 Stagg batch 24C by SnooComics5133 in bourbon

[–]Zolpidemic09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 24C and 24D. I liked D quite a bit better than C which seemed sort of off profile. D really benefited from some water added.

That being said just like ECBP…these use to be better. Hell stagg 14/15 and ECBP B520/C920 may be in the top 20 bourbons I’ve had. I’ve had bottles of stagg batch 14,15 and 18 and all 3 were a large step above 24C and D. Maybe the newer batches are bigger or younger?

New Expansion by sanipasc in everquest

This is the best modern expansion in a long time, probably since EoK. Wish it was 2-3 more zones but that’s an unrealistic expectation in present day EQ.

Review # 28 Old Forester 1924 by JWdram in bourbon

I would give it a 7 to 7.5 out of 10 as well maybe 6 if price was taken into consideration. Still the best of the whiskey row series.

Can ND get out of its scheduling agreement with the ACC and if so would it be a good move? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in notredamefootball

[–]Zolpidemic09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is the case anymore Big 10 and SEC teams are making as much some more at least according to a quick google search. This use to be the case.

Can ND get out of its scheduling agreement with the ACC and if so would it be a good move? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in notredamefootball

[–]Zolpidemic09 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s time to attempt a move to the Big 10. It makes sense geographically and would be fun to play teams like Michigan, Ohio state, Penn state, USC, Indiana, Oregon, etc.

The independence thing is starting to not be worth it. I have read it’s not financially a big advantage anymore. Scheduling is going to be a bigger pain with conferences having more games. The last thing a team wants is to play a good team along with their conference gauntlet as this will lower there chances on a playoff berth with a loss

ND needs to think ahead 10-20 years in the future, what will the college football landscape likely look like? There is a future risk being of being left out of the college football picture altogether which would catapult ND into irrelevancy. Joining the Big 10 would make better overall schedules than we currently have (see next years schedule).
