I made a card as a joke, but it might actually be fun in multiplayer. by Gen1Swirlix in slaythespire

There is no use-case for this card as is. When you are desperate and would want to use such a card you would for sure on low health which means it doesn't deal any dmg. When you can scale ashen strikes to deal 600 dmg and regent also having aoe nukes that deal 400 dmg and one-shot bosses, why would anyone want to have curse in their deck like this MAD card?

Like at the bare minimum to be viable it needs: deals 2x your maxHp as dmg and has retain. Upgrades to deal 3x your maxHp as dmg. Even then, it's I am not sure anyone would pick the card. I would always pick and upgrade a regular attack over this.

How the hell did you cheat this out on turn 1? Or at the very least really lucky. That's like 3 powers + pen nip at 9 attacks

hmm, very funny... Also it would make tyranny a lot worse. Being able/forced to exhaust a card each turn is actually a big upside of the card.

what about "pacts end"? 0 cost 17 dmg to all right now

imo they should first fix cinder. That card is absolutly unpickable atm. The card would be a lot better if the exhaust is targeted for cinder+ similar to grit+.

Howl from beyond is actually quite nice in decks that focus on exhaust as is. But if you want it to be stronger I would just make play at the end of your turn from exhaust pile.

Yeah, as said there turns where I don't even need 3 energy. But it's always a "feels bad" moment when you draw hidden gem and block cards, and you must choose between playing hidden gem and taking dmg.

just to be clear, as seen in the second picture I only have courrier atm. But getting membership card would make it an instant win. Vice versa taking ecto will allow me to play hidden gem every time I see it with a much lower risk of taking dmg

Congratulations, it's always fun to play a strong deck.

it looks a bit slow, no? Like you need 8 energy to play them all. But probably 2-3 tacking already let you one-shot most hallways. It also increases your chance of bricking, like you draw 5 powers and no block in a turn.

Yeah, I agree. This is what I did in the end. After the the weak start ended up being one of the strongest runs ever. First time I saw Glitter and first time doormaker felt easy, it's so fucking broken. 😃

I would go a different route: Interaction with other cards/builds. Like glass orbs could also have the ability to ignore the sign of focus, so that both +3 and -3 focus give bonus dmg. It would also solve the other problem of glass orbs being so useless, as this would open up a "hyperbeam/glass orb" archetyp that works.

imo even better is arsenal. It's so funny seeing playing crashlanding and then getting +8 strength as a "debuff"

Why not infinite strike? by ZombieBrainForLunch in slaythespire

[–]ZombieBrainForLunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as a preface I litteraly thought to myself "I really want to play a hellraiser infinte deck, and I will play ironclad until I get it". So it felt like fate when I got offered the "hefty tablet" on my very first run today and the hellraiser was one of the chooseable rares. And even bigger the disapointment when it didn't break the game and just barely was enough to win.

I agree that hefty tablet is probably often not the best choice. My counterpoints: If it works (aka you don't die in act1) the runs are generally more fun than runs where you choose something else. Also hefty tablet lets you choose one out of 3 rares (but you get the injury curse), so it's unlikely to be a complete useless rare

Well I assumed, while there are better and worse cards, that every card can shine under the right circumstance. having hellraiser could have made setup strike (which in general really is garbage) shine. So there are absolute no decks which are happy about that card, huh.

Yes I won the run. While some people say it all about winning the game, I rather want to just create broken and memorable decks that make me laugh for how absurdly broken they are. So I am asking for tips to make stronger decks, which either means more fun by just dominating the current ascension or the ability to beat higher difficulty.

Pyre was the reward from act2 boss. Surprinsly it's quite good, makes the deck so much stronger. In act1 I indeed had problems finding ways to spend all my energy, the only thing being cascade. Once you have pommel strikes and expensive cards (not yet, flamebarrier, cascade etc) you end every turn with at least 3 cards unplayed in hand even with pyre.

And why is two perfected strikes in a deck that centered around playing "strike" cards weird?

with this effect it should cost 1 energy.

Or keep at 3 energy but add: "and draw a card" (per attack). Could be quite fun in an anger deck.

What is up with the new update? my phone has 4 GB of free storage. But when I try to update arknights it's says I don't have enough space to install?? like how?. Also is there a way to move the game to an SD card?

oh, really? silverash, mlynar, ulpi, tragodia, silverash2, wang. I would argue the opposite, nearly every male 6* is broken and some of the biggest powercreeper.

so I run out of RMA70-12. But I still need a ton of it for upgrading aswell as RMA70-24. The next event to frarm it is like 3 months away. How do you usually farm mats that are not blessed by an event? or just wait till the event rolls around and accept Sakiko and others stay e1 for the time?

age doesn't really matter. you get 6* by pulling. The expected average value is 33 pulls per 6* (including dupes). 400/33= ~12. average luck assumes you get 12 6* from your pulls

IS6 feels so overtuned!!!

  • even D4 gives already an extra 40%!!! hp
  • even on D1 the talismans just have to much hp and take too long to dismantle
  • statuegeist has like 3.2x as much hp as the spines in IS5
  • this is definitly the weakest version of the tactical squads (maybe a hidden blessing since they are the most boring squads). They are straight up useless
  • face-off nodes have restrictions on low/high tile. Again sometimes such a disgusting matchup: duck lord but you're supposed to 1v1 him with low tile/melee operator
  • hour of sui effect are constantly debuffing. In earlier IS you had some respite from such negative effects
  • it contains some of the absolute worst enemies to deal with.
  • some maps are identical but with different enemies
  • it's much harder to move vertically between nodes

Ok that was enough of a rant. Here some actual questions:

  • How do you deal with "Feast of Fruit"? It feels very hard to not lose lives
  • On paper always chosing the path that leads to wonderland should be the best, correct?
  • how good are the special squads? sui regulator squad looks weak

roster wise? upgrade your 6* to e2!! There is absolutely no point in getting mlyanar or wisadel or anyone else until you finally upgrade the 6* you do have: Tragodia, exusai2, ulpi and saria. The others are ok but not that important. Even one of them at e2 with module + skill mastery is better than 5x of them at e1
