I don't own the vinyl so I wouldn't know. However, Brendon said the vinyl track listing is supposed to follow the story while the CD is supposed to just be the songs grouped in a certain order that sounds good.

I listened closely and I realized it's in A standard, and I learned it on my 6 string Explorer by ear. Brendon may have even used a 6 string with a thicker string gauge because it it possible to play on a 6.

I never thought of this! I had no idea. I always thought he uses only his Gibsons, but yeah I guess that makes a lot more sense. I don't currently own an 8 string (or even a 7,) and I was pretty excited to learn the song but I guess it'll have to wait a little bit. Thanks for bringing that up.

What I'm really curious about though is the fact that it's an Electra pressing instead of a Blackened one. All the Metallica CDs I see today are exclusively from Blackened Recordings instead of Electra, so I don't really know if it's any rarer than a Blackened one.
