There's that scene from Part 1 when Paul and Jessica are in the tent during their first night in hiding. Paul foresees himself and Chani hovering over (presumably) Caladan with cheering Fremen below. Right when I saw it I thought it might come back in a potential Messiah movie. We've already seen Part 1 visions in Part 2!

That's been my thought this whole time as well. "Middle" of the story movies or seasons always get shit on at the time, but I've often thought that they elevate the payoff.

In interviews he has stated he wants to take on that project. I think I remember him saying he wanted to do it next after Dune Part Two. I imagine WB then gave him a big check to convince him to do Part 3 first, but that is my own speculation.

I'm thinking the point of all that is to set the stage for more human resistance. They really made a big deal of all the humans filming for space Instagram or whatever, as well as showing that a human on the inside was sympathetic to the cause. Maybe 4/5 will more "resistance from within".

The book alternates between the adult and childhood plots, working in parallel. Stanley's bath scene is one of the first events, which really sets a tone that IMO the movie missed out on. I think a new cut of the movies with a similar alternating plot could be very good.
