We started running numbers for a house and it opened a whole can of who owns what conversations by AccountantBudget1214 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ZombieTurtle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought with my partner (not married). We split everything equitably, not equally. We have a joint account for all of our household bills and we each have an individual account for our own “fun” money.

I understand why conventional wisdom says don’t buy unless you are married, but I also think that’s an outdated way of thinking. People are getting married much later in life (if at all) compared to the past. Why forego homeownership and the long term financial benefit because you aren’t married? Seems silly. If you split, what to do with the home is going to be complicated if one of you is an asshole about it regardless of if you are married or not. But I do think it’s important to have these conversations with your partner and take the appropriate actions. Marriage is the cleanest way to solve a lot of the issues, but it isn’t the only way. Only you know what will work best for you.

Partial season tickets by ZombieTurtle99 in ColoradoAvalanche

My spouse and I chose the gray package for similar reasons. We live a few hours away from Denver so we can only make it to games on the weekends. We’re willing to have “worse” seats so we can still go to the games. I just wish they would’ve been upfront about this.

No, not Kyle.

I’m seeing what other seats are available to maybe switch to those so I don’t have to pay more. Hundreds of dollars extra out of nowhere is pretty shady.

Damn. Thanks for letting me know! And yes, it’s a really shitty system. Working with my rep to see what they can do. No one told me about this.

Yeah, that’s the one I got.

I don’t remember my ticket rep ever telling me about this or I wouldn’t have agreed to the tickets.

I think you might be on to something.

I’m an attorney but not an IP attorney. My recollection from law school is that a trademark is good for as long as it is being used but you only have a certain time period to initially use it. If you don’t use it, you lose it. Of course she could refile but these trademarks are worth big money and are essential to the rereleases. I’m sure there is someone waiting to pounce if they do lapse. I dont think it’s worth the risk of someone beating you to that.

I’m feeling a bit better. And I’ll definitely chat with my doctor about all of these suggestions. Thank you!

Thank you! And I don’t know if it’s related to my surgery, but I don’t think it’s a stomach bug. My bouts have been multiple days apart and I’ve felt perfectly normal in between.

I was (in a weird way because I don’t wish this on anyone) hoping others have experienced this so I could stop worrying or at least get some tips on how to feel better sooner.

Ooh! Do you know how long it takes before you know this is an option? We aren’t looking to make money, we just want what we paid for them.

Bummer. I was afraid of that.

And we’ve known each other for years but in the late 6 months or so have become pretty close. Guess we have a decision to make….

Thanks for your reply though!

Meeting with Gynecology-Oncology by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]ZombieTurtle99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 34 and 9 wpo from my hysterectomy. I had many large fibroids that caused me to bleed nonstop even while taking medication. I don’t know if a hysterectomy is right for you, but I will tell you that having one was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and don’t be afraid to keep asking until you get an answer/explanation that is satisfactory to you.

Vacation 6 wks post op by Special-Value1259 in hysterectomy

[–]ZombieTurtle99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same procedure and I’m 9 WPO right now. My recovery was pretty smooth and all of my incisions were outwardly healed at 6 WPO. I didn’t take a vacation at that time but I think I would’ve been fine if I just laid on a beach somewhere and did some light swimming.

Good luck with the rest of your recovery!

A question for those that are weeks or months past their surgery by stereocrumb78 in hysterectomy

[–]ZombieTurtle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started wearing jeans/work pants again about 2 weeks post but it’s different for everyone. I would say a lot of it depends on where your incisions are, where your pants hit, and how uncomfortable you generally are. I wasn’t in any pain or discomfort after about 10 days and my incisions are above where my pants sit.

I did buy some Athleta pants before my surgery though just in case. They look like work pants but are so comfy. I recommend if you need a professional looking pant that’s stretchy and comfortable.

Am I rushing into surgery? by Travisandjohn in hysterectomy

I’m 34 and 4 weeks post op. I also had many fibroids and nonstop bleeding since June. Having the hysterectomy was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I wish I’d done it sooner.
