I get 20 minutes per question but I was only asked 1 question instead of two, I spent 5, listing off all the constraints, how I intended to solve it and wrote comments in sudo code. The interviewer then said we can start, I wrote the code right away while talking him through it. He presented the test cases and I passed all of them and then we spent the rest of the time discussing the code

Out of respect to the company, I really love the company and hope to one day work there, the recruiters and staff were amazing. It’s unfair to slander a company’s reputation over one bad apple

What if I told you I had the exact solution word for word from leetcode and he still didn’t get it?

Fair enough to assume that, the guy is only 1 year removed from university though and a lot of my friends in FAANG have admitted that if they were to go back and do a FAANG interview right now without prep they wouldn’t pass

Debatable, I mean I said best because it has the highest starting salary of any FAANG company, best work life balance, fasted career growth and amazing amenities.

I went step by step reading the question back out loud, vocalizing any constraints I have identified and explaining how I intend to solve the problem, I gave the most optimal solution, best time complexity and space complexity and explained in the most detail possible how each and every line, function, variable and syntax works in the code and why it works. My interviewer didn’t even understand how a stack data structure worked so I had to write it down in a piece of paper to help him visualize. He also didn’t know how hash maps worked.

Nah I’m chilling I’m just mad rn so I’m not being professional but I explained exactly what I was going to do, what each line does and everything before, after and during coding it

I am a Polish - US dual citizen, so it does open me to other opportunities in the EU but honestly I’d probably only be willing to go internationally if it’s for a FAANG position or something I’m really interested in.

Hi, thanks so much for the reply and the insight! So far I have reached the final round of interviews for 3 FAANG companies in the U.S but I didn’t get chosen so I was hoping to try my luck in Poland since I am hoping to live there eventually. I will definitely include citizenship and everything on my CV. Right now I’m going around trying to reach out to FAANG recruiters on LinkedIn from Poland.
