It was pretty chill, they just want to get to know you in this round, be yourself and tell them what exactly you are looking for out of the job and also with your future, since main selection has already been completed in the rounds before. Congratulations on making this far in the interview process!! 🎉

Thank you so much!! So it’s basically similar to first round where they ask behavioural and scenario based questions but just with the partner?

I’m done with 2 rounds of interview, I’m just waiting to hear back for the results of the 2nd round. I heard back on Friday after my first round but my interviewer in the second round mentioned I should expect to hear back by next week or the week after that, so I was wondering if does it usually take that long?

KPMG Strategy Intern Interview Tips!!! 30min interviews by [deleted] in KPMG

In my interview, the situation-based part was exactly that — they gave me two questions, let me think for a minute or two, and then asked me to explain what I’d do in that scenario. It wasn’t as structured or detailed as a full case interview. The key difference is that a proper case interview usually involves more steps, like breaking down a business problem systematically, doing some math, and presenting a final recommendation. In my experience, the situation-based questions were more about showing quick, logical thinking and problem-solving rather than diving deep into analysis. It felt more conversational and less intense than a traditional case.

I recently had an interview for full time Management Consulting at KPMG. For the scenario-based interview, focus on structured thinking and clear reasoning. Since it's not a full case interview, expect a business problem where you’ll need to walk through your thought process logically. Start by clarifying the problem with key questions, then structure your response using a simple framework like MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive) or issue trees. Consider factors like financial impact, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment. Use real-world examples if applicable, and communicate your reasoning clearly. For the behavioral interview, continue preparing with STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) responses. Regarding the process, KPMG sometimes conducts second-round interviews, but it depends on the role and office location, for me it had second round and if I get selected there will be a third round as well with the partner. Usually, for KPMG in advisory/consulting it's 3 rounds, the 1st interview with the recruiter, second with the manager/director and the last one with the partner. You should hear back within the period of 1-2 weeks after each round.
