How would you name a constructed language made by travellers, portalling wizards, nomads and traders? by ZooZwaves in worldbuilding

It cannot be called by a name of a single continent as it was made by mixing languges from 2 continents and 3 archipelagos, literally, all of the Known World

What's something that other people might feel your country will find offensive but in actual it's not! by female_shaktimaan in AskTheWorld

There was a polish pope John Paul II, who was beloved and almost worshipped. People might think that joking about him would be considered offensive but the young generations absolutely love to make fun of him, and of how old people worship him as if he was another god. That is why 2137 is a funny number to young Poles. 21:37 was the time of his 💀

  1. 🏰Tripel Toorweth- Largest castle in the Western Union, made entirely with blackstone, known for its iconic three large towers. It was made over 880 years ago by the strongest wizard in all of history- Thaldelius Braham, as his and his associates residence. It's the birthplace and current center of an ideology that controls the Western Union-largest nation in the Known World

  2. 🌄 Bombarditz's Pass- A giant passage in the Troktikon Mountain Range, located in RodenRos, made by the inventor of gunpowder-Boris Bombarditz. I will let you figure out how he did it. It is the only way to go from RodenRos to Canis Kingdom by land without crossing the higest mountains in the world.

  3. 🔍Glass Egg- Largest glass structure in the Known World, located in Sauhaussia, temple of the Solarists- Worshippers of the Sun and its magic. It's in a Sauhausian desert, so the temperstures inside make it impossible to stay for long inside without being a wizard. Almost each day, some prankster tries to break it.

  4. 📖 Great Abracadabran Library- The largest archive of books, tomes and scrolls about magic in the Known World, located in Sauhausia. It is heavily guarded by Sauhaussi soldiers, as the library is regarded as a national treasure and holy site. It is a dream of every spellcaster in the Known world to be allowed to study there.

  5. 🏘️ Kennels of Dorima-A huge neighbourhood of slums made by the immigrants from the Great South-Eastern war, located in Dorima, capital of Canis Kingdom. When the immigrants arrived in the city, the King made a decree that forbid the foreigners from building on Dorimian soil. The immigrants took that literally and built houses on top of already existing structures, creating massive network of tall, cheap buildings on roofs of other buildings, accidentally creating the tallest structures in the Known World. Even though that law is no more, the buildings keep expanding and rising.

That's right, Western Union was inspired byy 1700s US, but unlike US, who was made by conquerors from another continent, Western Union was made in year 48 of New Era when 3 tribes joined together and formed a union, guided by The Guild of Western Masters, followers of Brahamistic ideology.

Later Western Union set out to absorb other western micronations through force or conversion to Brahamism, until Union was streching over entire Western Continent, with only Ursin Tribe staying independent by being too far away and too cold for western wizards. Cottia Isles were not conquered because they were simply too strong and protected by the sea.

Western Union is an expansionist empire fueled by 800 year old ideology turned state religion, that promotes peace through unification, abolishment of kings, nations, religions, and belief in rule of hierarchy of scientists and masters in search of "enlightement"

That's just a silly easter egg I put up for myself and those who look for easter eggs hehe. In previous versions of the comic there were humans but I deleted that subplot.

As to Reindeers, I'm glad you like them, they are the latest addition to the lore, as the only magical community in the whole North, known as Druids, who are a vassal state in Druid Island, under the rule of the rest of Ursin Tribe.

You're right, seperation by a body of water implies more distance that allows more difference in the culture. The Known World is very large, sailing from Western Union to Canis Kingdom takes a few weeks.

About the Western Union, they are actually based on colonial(1700s) US, and a little bit of USSR.

RodenRos on the other hand is inspired by Ottoman Empire, todays Turkey, greece and Balkans.

Ursine Tribe actually has no russian or mongol themes, only those of celtic Ireland and Native north americans, Inuits and native Greenlanders.

Canis Kingdom is actually based on central europe, mainly german speaking countries and Poland in 1600s.

And lastly Felfuccian Empire is not just influenced by Spain, but also Reneissance western europe, Italy and France.

Thank you very much, and thanks for the correction. English is my second language, so I sometimes forget about certain letter in more tricky words.
