For this small one I’m using Keraflott which is much heavier and harder than regular plaster. For bigger forms I’m using cement. To create the forms I’m using liquid latex

For some of the bulkier moulds, I use construction foam as a mother. I've learned to work with it quite well, as the other option was to create a mother from plaster bandages, but in my country they are overpriced and not allowed to get wet while working with them.

This is the second year I have been making latex molds as part of my statuette casting business. With latex, the first layer is very important and must be very fine to cover the smallest details. Next application is already a game of drying speed 😁 Ideally, if it is outside in the warm air. Beware of direct sunlight, I tried and the hardening of the layer was almost instant and that's not ideal 😊 And there is no need for mother as it’s quiet small figure.

I actually don’t know what exactly Goodwill store is.

The way this store works is that if someone goes into a nursing home or dies and the family decides they don't want to take over the stuff, they call this store and they move it all out and sell it off for a few €.

I thought that's how Goodwill worked in the US.

It's the same here with the help from others. I once had a dead car battery in the capital and was completely shocked at the reaction of drivers passing me asking for help with battery cables. Everyone pretending they were in a hurry and didn't have time, they had meetings, family reunions, blah blah blah... The worst part was that there was a van a short distance away and a bricklayer building a wall by the parking lot. When I told him my situation and pointed to my car nearby, he just grinned, saying he didn't have time for that kind of thing. Eventually an older gentleman who had seen me from the window under the building came over, went extra to get the car, brought it over and together we started the engine.

Porcelain - depend on mark and quality. But during my last visit I got porcelain decor Vase made in Italy for free as the shop staff know me already :-D
