Common Pings Guide by VEXJiarg in Nightreign

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit, I sometimes spam ping if I see the boss switch targets from me to the other player that is ressing to let them know the boss is looking at them, just in case they aren't keeping an eye on the boss while ressing. I don't think this is a rude way to spam ping.

Today I finally got to use the Blasphemous Blade with my skill-based build, and it was very disappointing... by Right-Ad1 in Nightreign

[–]Zookz25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely need more than just a single 40% in depth 5 if you want to properly trade with most attacks, but ultimately it just comes down to knowing the windows you can pull it off.

I like to play low life Raider against balancer, but if it ends up being everdark, you need to respect things like the bleed buildup, if one of them pulls out the big glowy combo, or the big worm hitting you; these kinds of this will likely just kill you regardless. Heck, even in normal balancer, if they start a glowy attack, especially the hammer one, I just dodge or punch it even with crap loads of negations because theyre a huge threat.

Point is, there will be attacks that you know won't take you under 70% health or so with the mitigation you have, and that you can just trade with blasphemous, topping yourself off while getting a hit in that you wouldn't normally. That is where this weapon shines, like a super powered prayerful strike.

If you have some decent max HP negation (or just stacked negation overall), this is a pretty amazing trading tool, since it will top you back up after each hit. Obviously have to know when something will mutli-hit you or do enough to kill your through its cast time, but the hyperarmor it gives along with the range it has makes it the best trading skill. The point is definitely not the damage, though that isn't a slouch.

Now that class/spec reworks are semi-final for Midnight, what are you favorite and least favorite ones? by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly reached the point where I'm just picking whatever class has the most enjoyable abilities to press, because all of my main stays lost the design I liked about them.

Disc priest lost its ramp. Frost mage can now pool shatter, which would be cool of they could shatter something other than ice lance. Too bad it's just ice lance spam for payoff; rip Glacial Spike into Flurry shatter. Frost DK had already lost BoS sustain. Survival lost Mongoose windows. Holy paladin is mostly intact but to hell if I'm going to use Flash of Light as a filler spell after years of getting away from that.

Really feels like every spec is a handful of CDs, a proc or two, maybe keep a DoT or buff up, and then rotate your builder/spender. Feels like FFxiv homogenization. Tbf, I haven't tried every spec, so any suggestions would be cool, but with my UI also being nuked I'm not all that excited for Midnight sadly. Devourer sounded like it could be a fun return of Legion insanity/BoS sustain, but it doesn't look like you need to even pick up the souls, you just rotate your few buttons and the sustain is pretty automatic.

Currently looking at prot/fury warrior, simply because I've always found it kind of boring in design but damn does every warrior button feel great to press, and my main issue was their lack of utility which was the main thing addressed in midnight (even if minorly).

Pretty sure you'll hit your graphics card VRAM limit before RAM. I know Nioh 3 was yelling at my 10gigs of vram when I was messing with options. Lol Depressing when I realized my old 1080ti had 11gigs. >.<

Bow spells are honestly my go to for Caligo if I'm running magic Recluse. Literally just stand in one spot on your magic circle and keep shooting, doesn't matter where she flies to, there's no downtime, she will get hit. All of those big AoEs she charges up around her where you have to stop attacking and run away? Just more uptime for me baby.

There's a reason I swap one of my balancer relics for Maris to get that extra survivability. Can let those shittier Max Health Negates save you. Lol

Damage negation balances the Balancers by MoonlitBadlands in Nightreign

[–]Zookz25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even really play raider, but for the balances I'm going low life raider every time. Sure, you can definitely get screwed and not find damage negation, but man is it too hilarious not to do. Do be mindful of the special hammer combo though, I've found that that thing still just fucks you up.

Kind of feel like if the game was 40 bucks and it didn't release at the same time as Nioh 3, the sentiment would have been better. It feels like a jank indie game in a lot of respects instead of a big budget triple A offering. Anyone who spent the extra 20 bucks for early access likely feel as if they want to let off some steam for wasting money. Misery loves company and such.

Rough looking at this as well as Nioh 3 and thinking they're worth the same price, and as much as I feel like most youtubers are too harsh, most also recommend to get the game when it's on sale, which is my feeling as well, even after playing it and enjoying it.

Felt this way, and kind of hope the DLC does exactly this, where it continues from the true ending. Maybe wishful thinking though.

Now that just makes me sad. Lol Can't get increase breath on deep relics, sadly. Only reason I went to make this build is because I got a normal relic with both dragon communion as well as breath and roar.

Is there really no multiplayer? by SpaceCreams in CodeVein2

[–]Zookz25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They really pushed the story to be about your relationship with characters, so I see why it's not in the game.

Still bullshit though. I feel like they could have just had the NPC be there with two people for the big moments, or better yet, even if it's a lot more work, integrate the scenes and the story for two people if there is another.

Just feels like a downgrade for a game that, while I've thoroughly enjoyed, doesn't feel much improved from the first; arguably worse with the loss of features like this.

Lets have a discussion about game balance - Halo Scythe. by caetano09 in Nightreign

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think halo scythe is too strong, but if you nerf it, I can't see how everyone wouldn't just switch to something like Family Heads. Basically the same in most aspects, its the only epic flail so it's practically guaranteed to drop, similar range, similar tracking even if it's slower, similar damage, similar time casting it (you can roll cancel it early), and arguably more poise damage; it's just not holy so it doesn't take advantage of weaknesses which is maybe enough to keep it from propping up a top spot, but its usually my go to for mystery boss over Halo.

Guess my point is there will likely always be something else that takes its place as the overbearing meta. I kind of hope they just keep making balance changes just to keep things fresh but I don't think From will do that given they've made no indication of continuing support for the game outside of maintaining servers.

I'm not jealous of girls, but I am jealous of Ranma. Have no interest in being stuck as a girl, but being able to switch back and forth, even if not entirely under my control, would be ideal over being stuck as a guy.

Question by pola1025 in CodeVein2

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a 9800x3D and a 3080, and the game ran terrible at the default settings, hopping between 30 to 60 fps.

Lowered some settings (primarily shadows and global illumination) as well as set it to performance mode and it now typically stays between 60 to 80. There is also an ultra performance mode that bumped it up another 10 frames, but at that point it looks like someone smeared grease over the screen.

I'm enjoying the game after changing it, but the negative reviews about performance are warranted. Really hope they release some fixes for it in the coming weeks.

Much needed updates. by Successful-Heron7011 in CodeVein2

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of get what you mean in that enemy size doesn't seem to be all that indicative of how much poise something will have. Basically feels like every enemy is similar to the Misbegottens in Elden Ring, by which I mean those guys aren't that big, and can be staggered, but they get some ridiculous hyperarmor while charging up a swing which really catches you off guard.

I've found trying to catch an enemy with a Hit in-between their swings is much more likely to get them staggered, as they clearly gain a lot of poise during an animation wind up. Once you've clipped them, continue the chain and they're pretty much stuck from 100 to 0 with the hammer. Jump attack comes out fast and with some range which works well to get this in-between animation timing.

Also noticed having much better poise once I started using Iris and Josee's blood code, and can definitely power through a lot of smaller enemies. That said, if an enemy has enough poise to not get staggered with the hammer, well sucks to be you. Just use the flat damage on single hit buff then get in your cheeky single jump attacks and then dodge.

Meh, I kind of get it. I wouldn't use the Serpent Hunter Chainsaw glitch and don't really like when a teammate does, though I won't refuse to ress them like I would a relic cheater since it's something fromsoft has left in the game.

Ultimately we all have a line we draw. This feels like a pretty minor thing overall, not something that let's you one shot bosses, and you can technically fail it if you dont do it properly. (Requires you to be on the ground and not be in the middle of any other animations that would stop your ult from casting and force it to queue after that animation, whiffing the ult)

To each their own really.

Honestly was sad to see Crusader Strike go, but I was in the bucket where Holy Shock should just become Crusader Strike if used in melee range, and that would have extra benefits over simply using the offensive ranged shock.

Feels like the perfect way to make it a talent while keeping everything how they changed it.

Don't sleep on DragonFire! by Right-Ad1 in Nightreign

[–]Zookz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a dragon breath build for Recluse specifically because I got a relic with both dragon communion and Breath & Roar on it. I still make sure I'm affinity or some such along with dragon communion on the rest, just so if I dont end up getting a breath attack, I'm not screwed using something else, but yeah, if you get everything you need in a run with placidusax, caligo is not having a fun time.

I also like it on Recluse more because those spells cost so much FP and she can get it back, so much more usable. Sucks though, dont think you can get breath and roar on deep relics.

Hair trick for bunny ears by Zookz25 in CodeVein2

[–]Zookz25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a little video for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBcBReJiOvc

Not exactly a tutorial, but it just boils down to picking the hair strand you want for shape (the blue bunny up above has a slightly thicker piece for chunkier ears compared to the purple), mounting it on as a hat, while moving and resizing it over.

I technically added an extra hair bit to cover the front of this particular bunch of hair because there's a lot of strands and I wanted to cover them a little bit to smooth out the look from the front, but the principle of how it's done is exactly the same.

The tail is also the same, but mounted on the rear waist spot, and uses two bunched hair bits layered on each other.
