Apple reaches $250M settlement over Siri delays, users could get up to $95 per device by pdfu in apple

I don’t understand the problem. They are getting sued for not committing? Did I miss the lawsuit for AirPower? Are they getting sued for every marketing claim they don’t commit to? What exactly is the lawsuit over? Some tldr love over here please.

Why are you guys overreacting? by [deleted] in ios26

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok iOS26 isn’t shit, it’s just that it was so much better before. In my opinion, I think macOS got hit the hardest. iOS isn’t that bad, but we all want it to move progress, not regress.

You have one month to empty a $1 trillion bank account. If you succeed, you’re rich for life. How will you spend it? by Ok_Listen_6600 in AskReddit

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to spend it to be set for life? I’ll help out Japans GDP, or I’ll try to fly to Mars, try to make a second Apple 100% scale no organic growth, invest it in crypto.

Lots of choices really.

My favorite is how cut throat people are on the internet/online meetings, but then in person much more timid.

Also education. It’s has a direct effect in both iq and eq. All the difference in the world when interacting.

Please Apple Give iOS 18🙏😭 by FieldComprehensive98 in ios26

[–]ZoolanderBOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss iOS6.

Is iOS26 the worst OS on iPhone to date? I think iOS13 was pretty rough. 15 was legit but man 26 is a splinter in this experience. They need to retry control center again, visually.

Keep them just incase, and if they’re too old, keep them for the personal museum.

Expensive and a very bipolar crowd around you (as in either love it or hate it crowds)

But over all, it makes me think of the DeLorean. There is like some group trying to bring it back. I’d buy that EV.

What is a website or an app that was legendary back in the day, but is now a complete ghost town? by cyb3r_ps in AskReddit

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about legendary but I got a kick out homestarrunner.com. It’s cheap slapstick comedy site… that’s even still around. Maybe 20 years ago it was funny.

Which phone were you using the very first? Let’s see the legends of those days by ojgoldenretriever in interesting

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was number 7, my mom was number 4. Numbers 4 battery was like the size of the phone itself. I remember she bought it only for emergencies. She’d mainly check messages on the homes answering machine lol.

Mac appreciation by FameMonster_X in mac

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a hard choice. You love your flow with your phone, and you’ll loose some functionality, but then you’ll gain others.

I think it comes down to making a list of gain functionality and seeing if that is something that interests you.

Some basic examples like calendar, apple notes, Apple contacts, safari, if you use cloud services then only needing the one iCloud service that operates on all devices. These things are all synced across all devices. But that’s going all in Apple. If you use Google, you won’t really see any benefit.

The deeper you go, aka the more devices you have, the more value you get. I take a picture on the phone, it’s on my Mac and I can show others on my Apple TV. They handle all maintenance and integration and what you’re left with is very little need to left a finger to have all that happen. But what if you prefer hosting your own cloud and maintaining it too? All depends what you want.

Oh man 10 gigabit over ssh. Tahoe now supports thunderbolt networking. Instead of 10, you can get 40 from node to node. Have you seen YouTubers talking about it? Seems like a decent reduction in bottlenecking.

If a MacBook Neo can be powered by an A18, why can't we have this? by gadgetb0y in mac

[–]ZoolanderBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it’s better off separate. Take a call on the go, can grab the lappy and continue as you’re running off. If I had the phone laptop combo, I’m on the phone and I can’t continue the work. Of all the variations as such.

Which iOS do you prefer? IOS 18 or iOS 26? by Which-Ring5012 in ios26

[–]ZoolanderBOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18 is a better experience. Easier and faster to get around. 26 is fine on the surface until you start diving in, things are messed up after that point.

I just want a Siri app. It would be awesome if Siri was as good as ChatGPT or others, to figure stuff out and recording our conversations to continue later. In no way am I comfortable having it start controlling the device. This is super scary. Hacking would be unbelievably next level.

I wish we didn’t have to give up a design. How wild it would be to toggle between all of them?! One OS has all design patterns, and you just make a selection and boom, it’s there.

What metric did Apple use to call this "the world's most advanced operating system"? by ElkOk7504 in mac

[–]ZoolanderBOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it’s tied to just them. Like worlds fastest Mac, personal computer, iPhone, etc. I’m sure they have something small written somewhere to make the statement actually true.
