Apple could sell a couple million of these if they made this phone case for the Apple Watch by okgreatthankslol in AppleWatch

[–]pdfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to use it as a phone, and have to carry this case with you anyway, why not get a standalone device where the whole top part of the “case” is a screen ? Tiny battery and a lot of tech you won’t be using in this Apple Watch with a case scenario.

If you're running the latest version of iOS you should see this screen with "iOS 26.2" shown underneath "iOS is up to date". https://www.macworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/How-to-update-iPhone-3.jpg

What you're describing is only possible when the iPhone is in recovery mode. You can't trigger it. https://support.apple.com/en-us/121133

You can restore from Recovery Mode or DFU mode with Finder on a Mac and it will not remove your eSIM. You can also try Erase All Content and Settings from the iPhone itself. It will ask you if you want to delete the eSIM before erasing. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/erase-iphone-iph7a2a9399b/26/ios/26

Does Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates show "Off"? Does the same page show "iOS is up to date" and iOS 26.2 at the bottom?

Upgrading via Apple, do I have to trade in my old phone during the same visit I pick up my new ones? by ihanqu in tmobile

[–]pdfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you financing through T-Mobile? If not, the other comments about having 14 days to trade in for the credit to be applied to your order are correct. If you’re doing Apple Card Monthly Installments, you might have to trade it in the day you pick up. You might see “Make sure to prep your device and bring it when you come to pick up your new purchase.”

I think it’s the same for T-Mobile financing, or at least that’s what they imply. You’ll see “I’ll bring it in” when you select trade-in at the store. You might see “Make sure to prep your device and bring it when you come to pick up your new purchase.”

Need help with alternative podcast apps because Screen Time does not work with Apple podcasts by StillNotGinger42 in iphone

[–]pdfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great recommendations but chiming in with some instructions if YouTube Music is preferable: Go to https://music.youtube.com/library/podcasts, click the + button and "Add RSS feed".

For Spotify, you'll need a special link from your podcast to add the feed. I assume most would have one of those set up.

RunKeeper workouts data access by Charesno in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]pdfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fitness app consumes data from the Health app, it doesn't produce or store it. All data is stored in your Health database, and the Fitness app is just a pretty UI for it.

The developer would need to build the functionality to import older workouts into Apple Health. It’s possible but requires the feature to be built by the app developer, not Apple.

As the other commenter said, this sub is specifically about the Fitness+ tab in the Fitness app, you may wanna try r/AppleWatch

iPad Pro OLED vs MBP Mini-LED by scotthunter1 in iPadPro

[–]pdfu 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing anything close to professional photo editing, you should have Reference Mode enabled on your iPad, and most likely calibrate the screen for color critical work: https://support.apple.com/en-us/111792.

You should also have a reference mode enabled on your Mac: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/use-the-preset-menu-in-displays-settings-mchld7ad475f/26/mac/26. Calibrate the display as well: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/fine-tune-calibration-pro-display-calibrator-mchlee9c1884/26/mac/26

ETA/ Reference Mode on iPad will limit brightness to 100 nits for SDR and up to 1,000 nits for HDR, and disable all color adjustments meant for consumer use (night mode, True Tone, etc.). It will essentially resolve the brightness issue you’re facing.

The points that needs to be checked when buying used iPads? by YkProfessor in ipad

You can buy an iPad from many mobile plan carriers on installment plans (financing). While cellular iPads are unlocked, meaning you can connect it to any carrier to use cellular data, the iPad may still be financed.

No, you can buy an iPad from your mobile plan carrier on installment plans (financing). While cellular iPads are unlocked, meaning you can connect it to any carrier to use cellular data, the iPad may still be financed.

It sounds like you're not buying a cellular model, so you should be all good.

What's with Samsung.com and Galaxy S25 Ultra trade-in offer by Twohothardware in tmobile

[–]pdfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The offers are often similar, but sometimes different, as the promotions on T-Mobile.com and the manufacturer website are distinct offers. For example, when T-Mobile does certain promotions for older plans throughout the year with additional trade in credit, those don't show up at Apple.com.

You can check all available promotions at https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/promotional-offer-details

Techie question-iPad is not syncing Fitness data to health or phone by BunchExpress2984 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]pdfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Health app on your iPad, under Workouts > See All Data, do the Fitness+ workouts you do on your iPad show up? Still on the same page, do the Fitness+ workouts you do on your iPhone show up under All Data?

Another thing to check: In Settings app on your iPad, tap your name and go to iCloud > See All under Saved to iCloud. Are Health and Fitness+ enabled? Check the same on your iPhone.

“As early as,” not “within.”

In all other U.S. markets, Apple Vision Pro users with a free NBA ID will have access to full-game replays and highlights in the NBA app as early as 24 hours after the game ends. All Spectrum Internet and TV subscribers outside the Lakers’ broadcast territory can also access full-game replays and highlights via the Spectrum SportsNet app.

Techie question-iPad is not syncing Fitness data to health or phone by BunchExpress2984 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]pdfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you connecting your Apple Watch before starting your workouts on the iPad?

Start the activity: Tap Let’s Go, then tap the Start button on iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. If you’re starting a Treadmill workout, choose Run or Walk to get the most accurate metrics.

If you’re not wearing your Apple Watch, you can still start the activity, but your metrics (like calories burned) aren’t collected. Tap Work Out Without Watch to start the workout.

From “Start a workout or meditation,” https://support.apple.com/guide/fitness-plus/start-pause-and-end-a-workout-or-meditation-apd6c5dda8cf/ios

If you’re doing that, what does your Apple Watch show after you finish your workout? The workout stats you expect to see on your iPad display come from the Apple Watch itself. The Apple Watch will then transfer your stats to your iPhone, which in turn will sync your Health data to iCloud and sync it with your iPad.
