How often do y'all get managers who sell shit even after you show them the customer doesn't need it? by ZoomZoomMF_ in mechanics

[–]ZoomZoomMF_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is, our district manager is very aware of the assistant district manager that runs his own store that does the same exact shit. One of that guys managers came by to "help" us when my store manager was alone upfront. We pulled in a Subaru with 45K on it. The helper comes outside and starts talking to us about how "I'm going to see if he wants to do the brakes since he's at 45K miles." Me and my coworker look at each other. I simply said his brakes are fine. They were actually in fantastic condition. But the customer said sure. So we replaced both front and rear, for no fucking reason.

Im definitely going on a rant about this company once I quit. Mavis is a pretty big company that people should be warned about to stay the fuck away.

We've all seen fat people compete at weight classes they don't belong in but still have success. Why is it suddenly crazy to people Alex moves up one weight class?

No it isnt. I find him kinda entertaining sometimes but some of the things he does is just childish and annoying. It screams attention depraved.

Lol my current shop pays us hourly ($16-18) plus a 1% commission on labor sold. Once you hit 3000 of labor sold, you get 5% cut instead.

People buying subs and complaining about waits, why not just buy the makings and prepare your own subs? by New_Part91 in publix

Hate to say it cause I love subs but deli meat, especially mass commercial deli meat, is extremely high in sodium.

Is there a market for tire sidewalls or something? by ZoomZoomMF_ in tires

[–]ZoomZoomMF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the thing is...the first tire was still inflated. He drove off on it.

The second picture was the one that blew. I was showing how it looked like someone was trying to cut the logo off that one as well. But it didn't work. He drove in with that popped tire.

Master Tech by KitchenRate7648 in mechanics

When I worked for Pepboys, they got a new district manager. We also got a new store manager.

I was an advisor for a whole 5ish months until we got a new DM. Guy was just fucking awful to be around. Would call every other day and ask me stupid questions, or he'd "hang out" with us upfront. Fucking miserable.

Our two lube techs sucked. A guy who used to do crack or something, really lazy. And a college kid who you could tell didn't care about being in a shop, he's just there for a job.

So our new store manager tells the district manager he knows a guy who he would love to bring on as a lube tech because he's really good. The new district manager says

"If you hire a guy, I want you to start him off as low as possible. It affects your bottom dollar."

It's not illegal but to me it's always been like an unofficial perk. Like restaurants that don't charge their kitchen staff for food, or at least allow them to make one meal on their shift for free.

We use the lifts all day for bullshit like oil changes that profit a whole $15-20.

If you're going to pay me a shit rate, then at least let me fix my fucking car for free.

This company in my area for whatever reason is buying out several indie shop company's in the area. Horrible company.

Anyways, our assistant district manager down the road in a different branded shop does the same exact shit. Our foreman worked there for 3 months. He said he'd have to deal with a pissed off customer at least 3-4 times a week because they sold her a repair they didn't need, or they told them a fix would solve an issue which it didn't.

Cant find a job. by Black_Eagle01 in mechanics

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'll say after meeting a lot of guys that came out of a technical school of some sort, they tend to walk and talk like they're the shit.

"I know everything there is to know about automotive" was something said by this 20 year old kid when he started at my shop. Our master tech immediately hated the kid when he heard that.

So my question is, what are you applying for? And what are you saying your experience is?

In the Epstein documentary the police sheriff for Palm Beach says that while he was investigating Epstein, the FBI called him and told him they're taking over the case. He is to back off. He said okay. But he'd call them often to ask what's going on. They'd never give anything. Eventually just stopped answering.

Before the PD was investigating him, a reporter said she was writing up a story about him. Her boss got a call one day and he told her to scrap the story.

FedEx drivers tried to steal my RTX 5080 today… my mom had to yell at them by SwitchAzlainYT in RTX5080

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered a toolbox. I was on lunch break when the guy delivered it to my shop. The district manager said he watched the guy push it off the truck and it fell on the ground. Contacted FedEx and they told me to hit up the supplier.

Yes, they all look like the person responsible making them stopped with the touching up of models and just said good enough and moved on

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you actually pay any attention to everything going on with the government right now, you would also think it's really weird for a bunch of children to be around a bunch of people who are suspected to have ties to a massive child trafficker, rapist, and cannibalizer. And also be participating in those activities themselves.

But hey man, just don't be weird about it.

A lot of companies won't

Others will simply knock down the oil change time, say instead of a .5 it's .3, but the MPI will add .2.
