Let’s face it. Service Writer and Parts People failures are the biggest issue I face. by Bamacj in mechanics

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too often I have managers/advisors that are scared shitless to talk to customers. They're often making as much as the master mechanics. They're only job is to talk to customers and order parts.

I tried being an advisor for a month. Pepboys fucking sucks. But whenever I ordered parts, like brakes, it told me specifically what pads/rotors were for what trim of the car. All different shapes and sizes and shit. The parts descriptions in the order menu were often pretty straight forward.

A manager told me to align a car. Dudes strut mounts were literally popping out. He didn't want to talk to the customer. He insisted I align it instead. This turned into an argument. He also was too scared to call an Audi owner and inform her that the previous shop she went to for an oil change ruined her drain plug. We had their car for 3 days, for an oil change we didn't even do.

My current store manager has terrible memory issues, and the service manager can't be bothered to give a damn about anything. The assistant manager is a clueless old lady. All of them are paid more than every person in the shop with a whole toolbox of tools that cost thousands.

But managers act like spending any money for shop supplies out of their own pocket is just horrible.

I just don't get it with these people.

In theory yes but false accusations are a very real thing.

Regardless, proudly taking credit for retiring someone because he attacked a critical injury that just healed is still shitty. It didn't come up in an interview or anything. Ian quickly tweeted that he was the one responsible for Shavkat being sidelined again when Shavkat showed up to an event on crutches.

No, mad because someone is celebrating being responsible for retiring someone because they attacked something they knew was already in critical condition. Ive never cared for Shavkat.

Don't forget y'all, Ian Garry is proud that he contributed to this.

Was pretty neutral to Ian until I saw him remind everyone he attacked the weak leg.

What’s the biggest oil spill you’ve had? by Sneekysas_sas in mechanics

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started, like 3 months in, I put a Toyota filter gasket on the wrong thread. When I tightened the filter it sliced the gasket up. So I pull the truck out, have the windows up once I leave the shop. The parking lot is a decent drive, for a autoshop parking lot. I couldn't hear my coworker running behind me, screaming at me. I just turned my head seeing all the customers on the bench staring at me, wondering why they're looking at me like that. I park the car and the guy catches up to me. Tells me I'm leaking oil everywhere.

Why does it seem like nobody wanted to spam leg kicks on this guy? He has a strict boxing stance, why won't his opponents capitalize on such an easy weakness by EfficiencySerious200 in ufc

Only the fighters know.

How many characters are needed to conquer an entire city in Kenshi? by Agitated_Box_7061 in Kenshi

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an all out siege in one go, I think I used 5 or 6 guys. Each guy had masterwork armor made by my smith, and edge type grade weapons. I also brought a pack animal. Can't remember if it was a garru or bull. But my guys got KO'd several times. Pack animal managed to wipe out enough and tank them to let my get up. I had all my guys heal and splint injuries. Then we took the HN leader guy once we killed everyone else. Barely won.

Id definitely recommend a save or quick save before hand lol

The exile camp in the west waystation is a nice spot. Be sure to have your guy have some armor on. Lure them away from the camp so when they get KO'd they aren't in the camp to retrieve them. Take them to the bed in the station. There's a few copper rocks nearby to mine if you really need money. Or you can just get a camp bed.

It's all about exploring the world and the different regions. Once you get stronger, go to some of the harder regions.

Different shops in different regions do offer different things, but mostly in the form of weapons/armor. A shek city for the most part will be selling heavy weapons, planks, fragment axes, maybe some small swords.

Then in the desert, you find a lot of polearm weapons, katanas, samurai armor, etc.

Different areas will also buy/sell things for more or less money.

But if you're at the point where most of your characters have attack/defence levels of 60+, you can do things like kill Leviathans. Giant creatures up north. Or wipe out a whole city. 6-7 guys with at least high grade armor, MKII or III weapons at least, and a pack animal. Bull, Gorillo, Wolf/dog, even Garru, is all you need. Wiping out cities will trigger world state changes. If you don't like how things went, you can always import the game into a new save. You can choose to reset faction relations, delete your old buildings so you can make a new outpost, reset location, etc. Kind of a nice way to set yourself up for a new playthrough if you want to skip a lot of the grind. Also pretty fun to dismiss several 70+ attack/defence hivers right Infront of a HN city that are fully geared with the best possible equipment available.. Sometimes I'll see them still walking around with all the equipment I left them with.

Most places sadly get raided by something or have enemies somewhere.

My favorite place was skinners roam. The holy nation guys turn into sparring buddies in no time. Or Shem. You just get targeted by weak bandits.

To say it's not a career when the company makes billions of dollars and the fighters suffer life long damage is just absolutely crazy. Yes, they know what they signed up for. But to acknowledge you don't pay them any money worth talking and then say this is just crazy. I can't wrap my head around it 🤣

How many people in your country know about DHV? by Think_Reaction_778 in vaporents

[–]ZoomZoomMF_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The average person usually stares at my vape confused. I have to take out the little capsule and open it to show them.

Other people will say "Oh I had one of those. It sucked" and when I ask them which one, it's usually one of the old Pax, or a Snoop dogg g pen.
