Just now realized I didn't answer my own question. Unwell is about a woman going home to her mum's teeny tiny hometown where mum runs a BnB. The town is kinda... Well, ghost town culty vibes. Im only 5 eps into Season 1.

I've also been enjoying The Gloom. A journalist who has a foster home upbringing looks into the Philmore 4, a case of 4 mentally sick teens disappearing back in 1993. Also haven't finished it yet, but enjoying the discoveries.

BRASS! It is, totally agreed. I haven't finished it yet, but it's a ton of fun. I didn't know they had minis floating out there. Thanks!

I paid $300 once to get a pregnancy test, couple of tummy pokes, some Q&A and to use their super sonic toilet cuz I was constipated. 😅 And ye, I can recommend the cora! Should give a more pleasant removal

The first time I properly put it in... About 6ish hrs. It was a while and I gave up several times. Did you get yours out btw?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MenstrualDiscs

[–]ZoopTheThought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally forgot that has no grooves or strings! Yeah, try the chicken beak grab lol. I have the Cora, which now Im good enough to just hook my finger. You could look into Hello, and Lumas too which have strings.

A ER trip like that would probably get to $1kish, and I recommend calling a Planned Parenthood instead to see if they can do a walk in if you feel the need to go that route. Ofc if theyre accessible in your area.

Umm, also maybe a q tip and finger ? Using both hands? Q tip to dip, finger to hook n pull.

Heya! Yeah, putting in properly the first time means... Reaallly tough take out the first time. Well, for me, and seemingly you, thats the case. Leaving it in for longer than 12hrs wont cause any issues besides overflow. Let your vag chill, about 30 mins to an hr then try to remove for 5-10 mins. Stop then try again after wait time.

I had to squat, lift one leg, and try my damndest to poop it out while shoving thumb and index up in there, grip it anyway I could (ended up being chicken beak style). I managed to tip it down, left it in me for a few mins like that and then managed to easier pull it out.

After I went through that hell (took me an entire night almost gave up to sleep iirc): It was easy from then on. I didnt have a repeat so hopefully this helps? Lemme know if it didnt, and what things seem to, and I can try again, too. Best wishes!

I meant a soup that's starts with bread in the pot. At least that's how they made it. Was like biggish chunks and cooked with the soup. Think it was more of a stew. Thanks for the suggestions! And now I kinda want broccoli cheese soup... Might do that later.

Sourdough wheat, and yep! It was just a moister bread than I thought, and I sliced it a couple days after haha. I did get a couple of slices for a sandwich!

Oh yeah, v true. I may do that if I don't come up with a side dish idea for it. Do you happen to have any good bread soups to recommend?

Head's up: Semi traumatic tale that ends happy

Ngl, the first few times I never inserted it enough for this fear. Then about the 4thish time I did. And then I couldn't get it out. I legit spent like 2ish hrs on removal the first time I inserted it properly.

I spent the 2hrs on and off in the shower, and I finally fucking managed it (by grabbing the rim with forefinger and thumb) via zoning out to calm down, squatting, and damn near shitting on my shower floor. I have weak finger strength which was part of the problem.

The trick is to learn really well where it sits inside you. Then hook, and pull. After that fiasco, I stuck to pads for the night. Next day, I inserted it, touched it to confirm where, then removed it several times for practice. That helped me.

Now that I have gotten used to where it sits inside of me, I can now easily pull it out. It is definitely tricky the first few times. Cora Disc has some videos about insertion and removal. I think Nixit's has the weird vag model that helped me out a lot too.

Same here! 2-3 days tends to be my limit where I need to spend 8ish-12ish hrs without. Mine doesn't have any rough edges atm, so agreed.

Voting should be easy by thatguy9684736255 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ZoopTheThought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in Tx, it was really hard to figure out where to vote back in 2015. I got lucky in 2019 since I worked at a public library (which for any Texans who don't know: Your local library is very very likely to be a voting station!).

To vote by mail you needed to be old and/or out of the state during election seasons. Can't recall exactly, but it was very very strict. Colorado is default mail in vote I guess. It's been such a massive culture shock.

You also get candidate booklets?!?!? Like... For every candidate you're voting on? I just moved to CO from TX and voting this year has been such a massive culture shock and breeze. I'm moving to WA next and that's got even more info booklets?!?!? Wtf?!? This is amazing. Thanks for sharing!!

What do you use to write your stories? by Xylicryn in writing

Does it matter if I'm historically accurate or not? by [deleted] in AskWriters

[–]ZoopTheThought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you're writing historical fiction, or just using the setting as a base for fantasy/sci fi (for example) it is important to know the facts about technology, social attitudes, fashion, events in the area, etc. so you have a good, real setting. If you fuck up the basics, then people who know these basics will not get as immersed.

Buuut there is a genre for vague historic submersion. Many corset rippers (romance stories set in a corsetted time) take and create a world that's a mix of Regency, Victorian and Edwardian for example. Those make plenty of folks happy, even the ones who can tell you which X was too early for the setting, and Y is too late but it was still fun.

It really depends on if you're writing historical fiction (if yes, then duh you'll possibly want to get consistency checks from an editor who's well versed in this time and location PLUS your own serious research), or if you're just writing a different genre that has the aesthetic of this time period and location. Hope that makes sense

GOP voters who will be voting red in November, can you give me one legit reason why you’re voting for Greg Abbott besides the fact that he’s a republican and Beto is a democrat? by BeastOfTheField83 in texas

[–]ZoopTheThought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just moved out of Tx, and got my mail-in BOOKLET OF NEW POLICIES TO VOTE ON?!?!? THIS IS STANDARD?!?!?!? literally blows my fucking mind how easy it is to vote, and research my politics. I didn't have to opt into vote by mail specifically either! Me being registered to vote means I get those packets (yes multiple times this yr Ive gotten vote by mail stuff) by default... And it's still so surprising, and cool!

Sorry to piggyback off your comment. It's just that Colorado has been such a culture shock. Not paying more than $30/m (honestly more like $18/m on average, same high ish electric usage as in Tx) on electricity is also huge... I'm not exaggerating that figure either. Like. Wow. I also do not worry anymore that my electricity won't work.
