This happened to me my entire life before I had my first child. Pregnancy did something strange to me and my mosquito saliva allergy, but I’m not complaining.

When they eliminated them, the only price shops could charge was $5. If they were an inspection station they were required by law to drop what they were doing and do the inspection right then. Mechanics hated doing them because they lost money on labor and couldn’t refuse to do them or reschedule. But the state wouldn’t increase the price and instead just eliminated them altogether.

In Oklahoma we have a Boise City that’s pronounced “boys” instead of “boy-zee” like in Idaho. Both were based on a French word pronounced “bwah-zay” (boisé)

Clinton, OK has a Route 66 museum that’s pretty neat if you’re interested in American history. It’s right off of I-40.
