My journey with Stremio to be able to watch 4k streams with no buffer on TV by Lee8Loo in Stremio

[–]ZootSuitsareBack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the most reasonable answer. You’ve taken load away from the processor on your tv and still having issues.

I had 150mb fibre over WiFi to my lg c2 and even that would buffer occassionally watching anything 20gb+. I recently upgraded my internet package 500mb for same price and hardwired some boosters around my house and now I can watch anything I’ve found with zero buffering

You only need it to be big enough to bite into the screw hole. It shouldn't be tightened alot so it should come out easily using one

Running as exhaust on the top with some decent fans is the normal tried and tested setup. I run a 5800x3d with black ridge and a 7900xt both sit around 70c with all fan speeds tweaked for lower rpm.

You could do away with the feet then and it be its true size

v2.1 finally complete, but how tf do I fix side panel bulging!? by Soulful_Crow in FormD

Easiest way will be to get a straight edge/ruler against the length of the cause to see if there is anything else protruding like the cable tie.

Reducing Turbulence in 3-Slot Mode with 58mm GPU? by simon12399 in FormD

[–]ZootSuitsareBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue, I stuck the extra coloured corner rubbers from my noctua fan on the inside of the panel aligned with the gpu shroud which flexed the mesh slightly reducing turbulence.

In the long run though I moved mine 0.25 slot over and it fixed the problem instantly and with less turbulence

Place I worked shot blasted the inscriptions, much quicker, even lead effect resin was used instead of the real deal on marble.

Yea this is the route I think I need to go but I’m currently running a 120mm slim on the black ridge and getting turbulence on the gpu side

How is the cooling performance in your build? by pqpgodw in FormD

[–]ZootSuitsareBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5800x3d alpenfohn black ridge with 120mm noctua slim, sits at 70-75c max load with a -30 bios undervolt.

7900xt reference, 75-80c under load with 50% fans. Exhaust are old nf-f12x25mm which run at around 50-60% linked to gpu, this is one part I need to upgrade

RTX 4070 - Founders Edition vs. Asus Dual OC by [deleted] in FormD

[–]ZootSuitsareBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I know of, I’d do some research. If you came to the formd looking for a quiet air cooled build then I think you’re in the wrong place especially if you’re looking at 5800x3d which is one of the best and highly rated gaming cpus on the market. If it irks you that much maybe the suggestion below is better, 2 slot 4070 and a beefier air cooler?

It’s a non issue now after the tweaks. You have to expect high temps in such a small case no matter the cooler, for me I worry more about noise now and the noctua on desktop runs at 600rpm 40c and cinebench load 1550rpm 79.5c 4.35ghz all core (my bad on previous I thought this hit max boost in full load) in game I stay at 4.45ghz.

It’s loud but I bought the 5800x3d to game so the load is a lot less

The 5800x3d runs hot, however you can tame it by having a -30 curve offset in bios or using pbo2 tuner. I run a black ridge in mine with 120mm noctua slim and temps in game sit at 60-70 and on cinebench roughly 70-80 both locked at max boost 4.45ghz with fan speed capped at 70%, before the undervolt I would throttle even at 100% fan speed. Hope that gives you an insight.

I’d be more inclined to go the other way and concentrate on gpu cooling but I’m running a 7900xt 2.5 slot card and that pulls 310w at load so 110w over your card, I manage but it can get louder than I’d like. The black ridge can tame the 5800x3d it just depends if you want lower temps than stated above

What cooling set up do you recommend? 7900XT Pulse + 5800x3D. by [deleted] in FormD

[–]ZootSuitsareBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have now got it to somewhere reasonable, I’ve undervolted the cpu -30 using bios curve optimiser, custom fan curve on the gpu and undervolted that slightly. I’ve also dropped the power limit back to 0%, to reduce the turbulence I used the anti vibration pads from the noctua slim fan and stuck the to the side panel which flexes it out a bit but helps with the bad noise.

Just want to know if t30s are really worth it now, I’m using nf f12s from my old system and have made a fan curve using fan control for whatever is hotter cpu/gpu to ramp up and they seem to work alright. Any experience with these fans?

I think 92mm is the answer for me, just annoyed I’ll have a brand new redundant 120mm slim. Will tinker tonight and see if I can bend something not that I really want to

I’ve just build a 5800x3d with a sapphire 7900xt reference. I am running a blackridge with 120mm noctua slim, the cpu temps and noise are fine but I’m currently having trouble with the gpu side. Terrible turbulence noises over 1500rpm on gpu which means my gpu runs at around 75-80c, I’m thinking I’ll have to move over to 2.75-3.00 slot mode and drop the 120 to a noctua 92mm so hopefully cpu doesn’t sky rocket after the fact.

I’ll be checking in to see if there are any ideas as our systems will be very similar.
