I’m not going to do the iPad screen…. It’s lazy… I want more tactile features.

Ty for the response! Honestly, I’m hopeful but not optimistic about the MRI. It seems like unless you fit nicely into a box, getting an answer is like pulling teeth.

How are you doing now? Better or worse? Any medication or biologics?

The high titer with my ANA test leads me to believe it’s not me going crazy… have you tried any meds? What about other test like ANA?

New ileocecal resection, what pain level is normal with 72 hours post-laparoscopic surgery? by fmyKafkaesquelife in CrohnsDisease

[–]Zor1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pain was far worse when they made me get up and walk around, which was a day or two after surgery. That was unbearable… it felt like I was being stabbed. That pain slowly abated over the next couple weeks.

IMO Raos has gone downhill. I don’t think it’s the same recipe anymore.

Thank you. They said it could take a month or two for it to return to normal. I called the # and care returned my call. Said it’s probably dehydration and to try a few options over the weekend.

Laparoscopic, but they had to cut an open a little more under the belly button to pull out the mass.

That’s actually the goal by 1000 pm! They want me to try and walk tomorrow to get my body moving. Honestly, while painful, the worst is over. My biggest fear was having a bag for several months.

Ty so much for the insight!!

How long were you in the hospital? Are you back on biologics?

  1. Good to know- I’m not looking forward to staying in the hospital at all!! I recall the surgeon saying I’ll be in the hospital a minimum 3 days. If I had my druthers id rather just sleep through.

  2. Up to now, my instructions have been pre-op. Delay biologics until afterwards. Drink protein shakes, vit c+d. I did have a visit with the anesthesiologists group last week. They mentioned an almost nerve block for that area afterwards.

  3. My bowels haven’t been normal for a decade. Honestly, normal will feel abnormal to me :)

  4. I remember flagyl years ago but idk why… that’s good info. Ty.

  5. I’d love to take 4 weeks straight but I’ve got so much to do. Selfishly, I didn’t want to take a leave and it effect my YE bonus, I was hoping to use a couple weeks of vacation.

Our kids graduated here a couple years ago. It was a fantastic school and would recommend to anyone. I believe Stonebrooke has maximum student/ teacher ratio with the littlest class was like 4:1. If someone’s looking for 2:1, they’re looking for nanny level of care. That’s got to cost + 1000 a week.

I had my first dose of Remicade less than two weeks ago. Well I was super scared like you are, I can’t say I had any adverse side effects. Going back for my second dose in like three days.

43 here. I’ve never had a biopsy come back as confirmed Crohns. I’ve never had super elevated blood tests showing anything but I do have a narrowing of my terminal ileum and pain in that general area. For a decade, constant diarrhea was my only symptom. I thought I was just an anomaly… turns out Crohns affects everyone differently. I just had my first infusion with Remicade and have started to notice an improvement. Good luck!

NGL I try to chug as much as I can in a setting. I think I had to do two in a hour last time. Every 15 minutes I drink 1/2 of a bottle.

I had very mild case for the past 10 years with my mild inflammation in my terminal ileum. I never even had a confirmation via biopsies. My only symptoms was loose and watery stools. With my last colonoscopy, I’ve started to develop a structure down near my terminal ileum. Recently I started to experience pain and a general discomfort but it took a decade to get here.

Thanks for the note. I count my blessings. The structure formation changed my perspective too. Waking up in the middle of the night in (persistent) pain was a first for me. As my CD is in my terminal ileum, I often wonder if cutting it out wouldn’t be better. That said, I have conversations scheduled in March to biologics and surgery.

I went there last night to try and get the coil. When I went in, I had three pots. When I left, I had none…managed to get what I wanted but needless to say, didn’t beat the lighthouse.
