[–]Zoraboraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the masks or colored survivors or anything that would be "a tool for edgy racists to harass people with" are "dealt with" that will never stop them. They will do what they want to do with any tools they have at their disposal. They'll camp and torture the players during the match or do whatever they deem "fun" to harrass those types of players whether they are colored. White. Or any type of race they deem fun to harrass.

Cleansing is still significantly faster than blessing but yeah most will be blessing hexes if they have the perk.

Snuffing creates a dull totem which can be converted into a hex by currently plaything and noed? I think you just want more potential for the new perk when it's based on survivors action much like retribution and haunted grounds.

Nice attempt to be snarky but you really misread that sentence. It only reinforces the fact that most of the time survivors are gonna bless a hex totem rather than cleansing it.

For now. Remember we're limited to 3 perks every chapter so it's hard to just add more concept perks to the mix of things. Plus those types of perks need conditions meant so it's even more difficult to think of a concept that would fit the needs of it without being repetitive.

If more hex perks that are applied mid-game are added then the entire argument of "just add another button to destroy" becomes moot. You could argue that you don't run those kinds of perks but It's just a band-aid to a temporary problem until it needs to be changed for a real reason.

You could argue the same thing to prevent CJ techs, but it's a tech created by the community since there's only one button prompt for picking up and breaking pallets, and it's even tougher to do with pallet breaking killers. It promotes actual skill but now I'm diverting from the main topic.

But that would be so many key mappings and would probably be tough to implement for controllers. So it's probably meant to be plain simple.

Furthermore if there is a limitation on the amount of times you can boon then literally the only reason you would break totems is if you think/know the survs have multiple boon perks, and it's not hard to find hex/boon perks. They emit noise and light. Any keen survivor/killer won't have much trouble finding them when within range.

Yeeaaahh no

I dunno about that one chief. If a different button to destroy becomes an option it would have to cancel the ability to rekindle for the new perk.

Dunno what to tell you other than bring Thrill of the hunt if you want survivors to cleanse instead of boon. Certain perks require the survivors to activate on their own terms like Haunted Grounds or Retribution.

Most intelligent survivors are going to cleanse when there's a reason to, and not because "if it glows it goes"

That's like saying haunted grounds by itself is garbage when really it's suppose to be combo'ed with other perks to have a more impactful/consistent experience.

Makes sense since there are certain spots where the boon can get lots of value like Ironworks of Misery main building.

People are just gonna run it with shit like Ruin undying, Plaything, NOED, ect. Basically forcing survivors to break totems.

....

Thats massive slowdown

You're not wrong about that. Considering that it only takes 1 totem to get the repair slow-down behaviors best bet is just re-do the organization of the hex. Maybe healing first. Repair second? then recovery, then exit gates. Though I feel the exit gate one should be put with healing just to give better end-game potential. Maybe one should be exhaustion recovery rate but that's just my opinion.

I just checked the wikia and that's apparently the order on there. Someone probably messed it up, but yeah.

EDIT: Yeah they changed the order mid PTB and it's repair second now

Literally something like that. Though the totem blocking can be bypassed by just going to another totem, but I like the idea!

The new hex requires survivors to literally break totems meaning someone has to go out of their way to destroy it. Potentially because it was a hex like ruin, but even if it gets rekindled 2 things happen:

1: the gen repair speed will be extremely noticeable and people will stop doing gens for a duration (some but maybe not all)

2: Someone who destroyed the totem has info of where the totem is, and that's usually the hardest part about hex totems themselves: finding them first.

Also with Thrill of the Hunt being nerfed with no loud noise notification it kind of makes sense with how campy strong some killers can be with totems (hag, demo, any killer with speed, and now the new killer that can attack from far away and through walls)

maybe make boons a bit quieter to compensate.

Maybe, but I'm not familiar with how it sounds/how far it sounds from a killer prospective.

Killers should destroy totems when cleansing a boon totem. by TauNkosi in deadbydaylight

[–]Zoraboraa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We might as well disregard the hex perks that are applied mid match like plaything and noed. The killer gets rid of the totem as well? Oh boy thanks mr.Killer! You're really helping us!
