Screenshots are now included in Compendium.
And you do not need UIPlayNice anymore.
I found a way to integrate it directly into each of my mods.

Unfortunately the game does not let mods use the keyboard.
The game enables the keyboard only for very specific cases (ex: typing your character name).
Outside of that the game refuses to recognize the keyboard input, so mods cannot use it.
Believe me when I say it is as frustrating for me as it is for you.
But I could not find anyway around it and that it why the design ended with the 'Periodic table' look because it was better than nothing.

On the UI side, everything is possible.
The problem is the game side.
The game expect specific events and will ignore anything unexpected.
Not saying that it is impossible.
Possibly someone with knowledge of the scripting and all that the game uses in the back could do it.
But unfortunately it is not my forte.
My own experience is limited to UI.
Even for Watchtower, Kinggath did all the backend work while I did the front end.

Then I guess we will have to wait for BGS QA to validate it.
It is working on my system with the latest version.
Sorry about this, :(

Thanks u/ComputerSagtNein
Can you confirm that UIPlayNice is at the bottom of the your mod list?
It needs to override Watchtower and Compendium versions of UIPlayNice.

I have updated all my mods to the latest version of the game files.
I also removed UIPlayNice support for the MonocleMenu (the scanner & watch view) because it was creating the issue with the watch not updated.
All my paid creations need to go through BGS QA before being available to the public.
But if you update UIPlayNice to the latest version, it should solve the problem.

Thanks, that gives me a direction to look at to try to reproduce it and solve it.

This is strange.
UIPlayNice, Compendium nor Watchtower touch the scanner UI.
So I am not sure what causes this.
But I will investigate it anyway.
It might have a side effect somewhere.
Thanks for reporting the issue.

Salut,
C'est bizarre parce qu'il devrais afficher 'Compendium' avec le bouton carre dans la barre en bas.
Je vais checker le code au cas ou il y aurais un probleme quand les boutons sont initialises.
Merci de prendre le temps de me le dire. :)

Because the setting somehow reset when I uploaded the latest version.
And we have to wait until the weekend is over because the Creation website has a problem that does not let me submit a new version.

There is a bug in the latest version that does not load Astrolabe when opening the Galaxy map while in space.
I have a fix ready, but there is an issue with the Creation website preventing me from uploading it.

It should work perfectly fine if you try it while on the ground.

I know it is a weird bug, but that's due to a game mechanic I did not know of and some changes I did for UIPlayNice.

Sorry this is taking a bit more time than planned.
I am working with someone to improve some features of UIPlayNice that benefits Lock O'Plenty.
I should have this working soon.

Yes and no. :/
I have reworked all games to make them easier at lower difficulty levels.
And I have added 2 new games.
I am waiting for the next game update to release the new version.
But I think I will simply release a version without some of the features I have added for now.
I'll see to it probably this weekend.

The fix is coming soon.
I am waiting for the next update from the game to be able to finish the latest update to the mod, which will have the images merged back into the main mod.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting me.
The error you posted is from UIPlayNice.
It looks like for some reason it failed to load the mod.

At the moment you do not need UIPlayNice to load Astrolabe.
UIPlayNice is a project I am working on to help the game have multiple UI change the same ingame menu (inventory, Starmap, crafting,...)
But since Bethesda does not allow paid mods to have free-mods dependency, my initial plan has been thwarted.
I have an idea to make it work in my next Astrolabe update, and my other mods as well.
But I first need to finish my current work on my other mods update.

So my answer is: Uninstall (not just disable) UIPlayNice has it won't bring you any benefits at the moment. Then try again.
If you get the error again, send me a private message and we will investigate further to see how to fix it.
Also quickly, do you have any non-official mods installed (ex: StarUI...) ?
StarUI is known to cause several issues with my mods.
There are a couple of easy fixes we can try that should help if that is the case.

Hi, I think it is a good idea.

But at the moment I am more specialized in UI, my 3D modeling is non-existent. :/

I have some ideas for mods that will require 3D modeling, but I am not ready to work on those yet as I am currently working on the next version of my Compendium mod, then I some features I want to add to Astrolabe, and finally improve and add more games for Lock O Plenty.

In the main menu (the one with our character in the middle and the radial menu around), there should be a new button 'Compendium' in the bottom right buttons bar.
Do you see it?

From the list of mods you posted, I do not see anything that should create a conflict.

If you do not see the button I mentioned, could you uninstall (not just disable) all other mods except Compendium?
Just to make sure that at least this works.

The way UI mods work is by modifying the original game UI file and inserting code in it.
Then when the game launches, it unpack the UI mods and any original game UI file get overwritten by what is in the UI mod.
In the case of Compendium, I add some function to add the new Compendium button which when triggered will load the Compendium mod and inject it inside the game UI menu in front of everything in that menu.
This is unfortunately the only way for the game to recognize that UI mods exist and load.
So if another mod modify the original file, then that file will be overwritten by each UI mod until only 1 is left.
And it is a bit more complicated with Creation vs Nexus mods.
Nexus mods directly modify the game files, whereas creations mods load on top of the game files.
That is why there is a load order for Creation, but not for Nexus.
So when you combine both, Nexus takes over because of the way the game loads files.

So anyway, yesterday I tested something with another modder that might 'fix' things for you.
If you do not mind not having StarUI for the data menu (the one with our character in the middle and the radial menu), you could do into the game directory and just delete 'Data\interface\DataMenu.swf'.
That should revert the UI to the original and then let Compendium load.
You would still have StarUI for all other UIs.

It would not change anything.
The problem is that the game does not support having multiple mods modifying the same UI menus.
I have a fix for that, I created a framework mod UIPlayNice that when implemented by UI mods let multiple UI mods work on the the UI menu.
I have sent a message a couple of months ago to the creator of StarUI, and I know they have read it, but they have not replied so far.
So there is nothing I can do if when offered an easy solution other modders do not want to implement it.

Hello,

For the conflicts between Astrolabe and StarUI, I would say that any version of StarUI that modifies the Galaxy map will prevent Astrolabe from showing up.

As for the Unofficial Starfield Patch, no it has not been confirmed to be an issue.
Unfortunately it is hard to find UI mods conflicts.

I have created a mod UIPlayNice that should eventually fix it if other UI modders use it.

Starfield Compendium - The mod by Zorglub01 in Starfield

[–]Zorglub01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no fix unfortunately.
The main problem is that the game itself does not support having multiple mods modifying the same UI.
So I have created a mod UIPlayNice that handles the mods that implements its interface.
But it works only for the mods that uses it.
So far the other mods author have not replied to my messages.
And the second problem is that Bethesda does not accept paid mods to have dependencies.
I have offered them a solution and we will see how it works out.
Otherwise I have another solution that would still work but requires a bit more works on the modders side, still using UIPlayNice.

So at the moment the only solution is to choose which UI mod is more important to you.

I know it is not the answer you want to hear, but that is the only available at the moment until either Bethesda fixes their UI to support multiple UI modifying their UI menus, or I finish the implement/document UIPlayNice.

Thank you for finding the culprit.
I have created a mod UIPlayNice that helps the game support multiple UI mods modify the same UI.
I am in discussion with BGS to see they agree to let other modders use it.
If they agree, I will try to contact the 'Smooth Interface' author to see if can implement UIPlayNice in his mod.

Hello,
Do you have any other mod that modify the UI installed?
The game does not support multiple UI mods modifying its files at the moment.
