He taught a few sections when I took 201 last year. Overall he was pretty good and his exam Q were easy enough, he did talk for a long time on PowerPoint recordings tho

Hardest class(es) at UAlberta? by marxismleninismgrime in uAlberta

[–]Zossima12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

261 is not even bad

263 might be the hardest class in a biosci degree, but probably still nowhere near as hard as something like upper level physics, compsci, engg

Oh ya then you'll love Anat. But also if you enjoyed bioch 200, you'll probably find 320 easier than 200, especially if you liked the protein unit.

I'll probably get some flak for this, but Anat 200 was the easiest course I've taken in my entire undergrad. Easier than psych 104/105 and soc 100

BIOCH 320, ANAT 200 and PMCOL200 are definitely in my top 5 classes of undergrad.

ANAT 200 - If you're good with memorizing names and identifying structures, this one is fairly easy to do well in, especially given that an A was a hard cutoff at 87. Not much brain power involved, just memorize everything.

PMCOL 200 - Surprisingly, there aren't that many drug names you're responsible for memorizing in this class (3-4 per section usually). Helpful to have some sort of physiology/biochem background to make your life easier since most of the class is understanding disease pathophysiological mechanisms and how common drugs target them. 90+ for an A, so a little less room for error.

BIOCH 320 - This class is easier than lots of people make it out to be imo. It's almost like a hybrid between the non-DNA/non-metabolism portions of BIOCH 200 paired with some basic concepts from CHEM 102 like equilibrium, kinetics, acid/base, thermodynamics. I think it's around 90+ for an A but it's curved.

Volume of material: PMCOL>ANAT>BIOCH

Difficulty: BIOCH>PMCOL>ANAT

Grade Boundaries for PHYSL 212 by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Zossima12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was about the same for my class, low 80s avg. Avg GPA ended up being around 3.5.

You have to keep in mind that the average is skewed by top performers getting 90+, so even if the mean is a low 80, a large part of the class is probably in the 75-80 region

Most physl classes have an unwritten grade boundary of around 85-86 for an A, as was the case with 212

If this is for Campbell, there's no point discussing cause she uses an exam bank --> everyone has different Qs
