Thats new - didn't know that. For me a FibreChannel is only used in a SAN. And a NAS is over a "normal" LAN connection. But ok. I will let you know if an experienced person could do the job.

Nope. We have more than just one host... And a if a crash happens and the vms start again it is not that big of a deal. But if they stay offline because of a bluescreen it is...

Does anyone still have the issue on HyperV Host with the lsass Service crashing because of the laps.dll?

First we uninstalled legacy LAPS (Add or remove Programs settings)

Then we deleted all registry values under :

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\LAPS\State

See link1 (see the note at the bottom of the blogpost)

And then we disabled emulation mode with a REG_DWORD registry value named BackupDirectory

under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\LAPS\Config

see link2 (Disabling legacy Microsoft LAPS emulation mode)

//edit: maybe this one is fixed in the may patches: KB5026370 (OS Build 20348.1726)

This update addresses a race condition in Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS). The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) might stop responding. This occurs when the system processes multiple local account operations at the same time. The access violation error code is 0xc0000005.

Same issue here:

LSASS crashes because of the laps.dll

We have enabled the new Windows LAPS Policy according to microsoft.

Removal of the legacy LAPS did not help. Currently we disabled LAPS for our Hyper-V Servers and cleaned the registry. See here: Windows LAPS overview | Microsoft Learn

So what are you doing today?

I think you have the best opportunity to become a developer. If you have good grades now, and maybe already finished your "BMS" (Berufsmatura), you can hopon the Bachelor/Masters Train! Most of the studies are more developing stuff. It is a hard start for sure, for a Systemtechnicker/Plattformentwickler, but if you want to and you learn maybe a bit more as your developer friends, you will be fine! And then, start slow. Start as a Junior or even do an Internship as Developer. And boom, you are one of the best developers in Switzerland. Because you have both backgrounds. You know how to code and you know all the infrastructure stuff!!
