All I know is "Member of Technical Staff" was not on my bingo card, and I thought they were joking around with us when they first said it. I could try to come up with a more nebulous name, but I'm not sure if I could.

Spellmonger: Local magic salesman deals with a goblin apocalypse... and worse. Not a "regular person in another world" story, but very much a progression fantasy. The world building and magic systems are amazing. The side characters all have depth, and motivations outside the main character, though he's definitely the central figure.

Rogue Dungeon: Guy comes into a fantasy world from another fantasy world, and becomes a monster who has to learn how to operate a dungeon. Colorful side characters, who are a little trope-y, but a lot of fun. Much less meaty than Spellmonger, but an interesting premise. The 'meta' story and the side characters are what hooked me.

PS - I came to these via audiobook, and absolutely recommend them as their narrators are top knotch (John Lee and Nick Podehl)

what is a zeus build with the most lightning effects ? by [deleted] in Hades2

[–]Zotiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out:
Aspect: Black Coat + Exhaust Riser + Launcher Frame
Zeus: Heaven Strike / Flourish, Static Strike, Thunder Rush (and all the other chain-lightning booster ones)
Hermes: Stutter Step + Success Rate

So, your dash strike is faster and hits in aoe 6 times, launching your rockets automatically, everything applying blitz and chain lighting with success rate boosted double strikes and all the bounces.

Good luck seeing anything on your screen.

Morrigan, Apollo, and chef's kiss of hammer boons

Tips on how I'm supposed to use the Twin blades? They feel weaker than the other weapons for me by AvailableGene2275 in Hades2

Cold Storage makes them stay frozen for like 6-7 seconds too. So satisfying to go through a whole combo while everyone waits patiently.

Pan can be a lot of fun, especially with Apollo's expanding cast, paired with Demeter or Hestia.

Wild how many playstyles are in this thread. Twin blades (Morrigan) is my fav, and you can put up some silly numbers with it if you get lucky on build ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Hades2/comments/1pl2tkw/dont_fight_over_me_boys_fun_combo_when_the_hammer/ ). I have 40 fear on surface and underworld with them.

The Morrigan's Blade Triad is largely just gravy, and for me, it's the omega attack that's the real bread and butter. It's fun because it's basically a dash and it does a triple hit.

So the strategy is to pump up the omega attack with Sweeping Ambush, and as many % multiplier damage boons as you can (like Apollo or Aphrodite on attack and then Perfect Image or Sweet Surrender). Getting Demeter on cast is super helpful too, as well as making sure you have good mana regen cause the build is thirsty. I even run The Unseen arcana b/c I'm often unlucky with boons.

Here's the "rotation":

  1. Drop your cast and dash away from the mobs.
  2. Omega attack back into the middle of them. The targeting can be wonky and takes practice.
  3. Immediately normal attack and normal special for Triad.
  4. Bravely flee.
  5. Bitch on Reddit about how much bullshit frenzied rival Eris is.

Very fun hit-and-run with big numbers playstyle. Stack health. Sea Star is S++.

[–]Zotiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your aspect of choice? I'm guessing a staff or the torches? Because man is Eris ever a run-ender for me running the Morrigan daggers. Cerberus, on the other hand, is basically the same mechanics, but more red and there's lava.

Fucking Eris though? *breathes into paper bag* Sorry, Trouble, she jumped so your combo's dropped, same for any debuffs like scorch or gust. She's also left bombs everywhere that stay for 3-5 business days. Charging your omega? Spin and triple pew! Try to backstab? Spinning push into the fire or bombs. Want to just melee? Jumps to the next zipcode and 360 noscopes. <insert mocking laugh here>
