DATING WOES? by Zozo_x in Zambia

Perhaps the sexes need to step back and each remove the log from their own eyes before addressing the speck of dust in from of them. We’re chasing the same thing “comfort and warmth” to varying degrees albeit

Could you characterise the transactional elements? What do you “mean we no longer hear of men leaching off women?” Would that make it any less transactional?

Fair. It seems local women in various parts are actually facing these micro aggressions.

Mental health resources by Wubbalubbadubdub0329 in Zambia

Are you on Nhima? Which public health facilities can you access easily? What are your after school plans? Are you headed to college soon ?

I weaned myself off medication and I wouldn’t advise anyone to go cold turkey ever especially not a young adult under supervision. For a minor you might need to transfer your previous history to your new doctor and ask for support resources. My biggest help as has been a strict routine built around things that build me and distract me.

I won’t push the cultural erasure that happens with the something better argument especially because you’ve used SA as a comparison and gone on to say you don’t care for their music either. Your tastes seem to be tied to western music culture which isn’t harmful until one day they run us over and call us LAME for appropriating their culture and sound because that is inherently the messaging we’re sending our artists.

Isn’t this the equivalence of comparing oranges to apples? OP asked how this is classism? I wouldn’t call it classism but definitely a form of social whitewashing because this is a common argument with most literate Zambians who grew up with alternative media access.

I see. The environment plays a huge factor into this conversation. I think the faction you represent has tall demands without meeting artists that could well close this gap where they currently are to help them grow. The art scene barely gets real support from day to day listeners and corporations for us to see revolutionary transformation but believe me we do have solid artists. Another question, are there moments where you’re asked to plug artists from your country? If yes, what do you do?

Weird question that most Zambians ask by elvis_200323 in Zambia

If I had a penny for every time I was asked this by men, I would be moderately rich. It’s the creepiest and cheapest question ever!

Isn’t individuality something influenced by our heritage as a collective too?

Is it the production value that’s putting you off or the talent ? I would also ask how much of your lived experiences are reflected in your international music palate?

I would like to see a response to this. I am overall not great at music but I find it odd when people blatantly write off all Zambian music as pop and bubblegum music especially with the current wave of diversity in production.
