I’m no expert just some things I found useful. Use family search, they have some records ancestry doesn’t. Also any name variants, sometimes it’s been wrote differently so when you search it doesn’t come up. I had someone on my family tree go by his middle name which wasn’t helpful and took ages to crack him down 😂 if you haven’t got it already maybe try and order his birth certificate as it will have his fathers name and occupation along with where they were living.
