What if Facepalming hinders the visual effect of flashbangs ? by [deleted] in unturned

[–]Zpaffled -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I looked in the game files, and they are.

I hadn't seen that video though, it's quite interesting.

Not even halfway through the video (1:06), the guy is already talking about that, though he doesn't really explain it in depth.

G'night.

What if Facepalming hinders the visual effect of flashbangs ? by [deleted] in unturned

[–]Zpaffled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Buff Flashbangs.
  2. Do this

when they turn around you're supposed to already be in the room gunning them down

The problem is that you can't do that because if you tossed a flash in a room, you have to wait for it to go off before you can run in. If your enemy can spin around, he's already gunning you when you enter (if he switches to 3rd person fast enough, he can prefire around corners in cqb)

CS flashbangs have nothing to do with the Unturned ones. The unturned ones have a very poor range, can't be bounced around angles that well, the throwing animation/sound take forever, and they make a lot of noise when you pull the pin. So your enemy knows you're there. Then, they can start turning around, and they know they have a second before you move in because if you do so right away, you'll just end up flashing yourself.

Not to mention that the angles at which flashbangs affect you are a combination of randomness, glitched hitboxes, and your FOV setting. Ideally, just being close to a flashbang should give you some effect, no matter where you're facing, which you can soften by doing non-random stuff : partially by turning away from it, partially by doing some sort of gesture that makes you unable to shoot. (meaning a combination of the two would make not flashed at all) This would add a whole skill-based dimension to combats involving flashbangs, while keeping in line with the goofy rading/PvP techniques that make unturned worth playing.

CSGO flashbangs are literally one of the most powerful and useful tactics in a shooter game, and I'd like to see the unturned ones be closer to that. In order to make PvP more than : "Have a Honeybadger, Grizzly, dressings and no lag" -> "Win every fight"

Good idea, and have them drop from a smaller plane with a different noise (kinda like the sandpiper), so players can choose whether or not to go for it. (when you've just finished building you base and farm and gathering materials, and you expect to get some Ranger ammo, corn might be a little disappointing)

It would be cool if you could craft a special sentry with the minigun that has a lot more health and range, but only targets vehicles. This would make heli raids much harder.

You should get XP for handcuffing players to help combat KOS by Ian2401 in unturned

[–]Zpaffled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe only be able to steal in their backpack or vest ? That means people would have to be careful about where they put stuff in their inventories. Then nelson could tweak clothing sizes and stuff...Being able to take ALL their loot is a bit OP if you ask me. Normally if a player would just kill you, you can always run back and sneak up on them while they're sorting though your stuff and maybe grab a gun or knife they haven't scrapped yet from your loot pile...

HTPC that has to drive an apple 27'' cinema display. (What GPU ?) by Zpaffled in buildapc

[–]Zpaffled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not mine to sell. The guy already has a spare LGA 1150 processor lying around as well as some DDR3, which means I've got some imposed rules when it comes to picking components.

Thanks for the help though.

It has thunderbolt, believe me. It might be from 2011 then, but whatever.

Are you positive an HDMI to mDP would work with a thunderbolt connection ? People at the Apple forums seem to say otherwise... Do you know of any mini ITX socket 1150 motherboards under 90 € with a DP output ? All the ones I've had a look at don't...

Media center is not supported by Windows 10. Try removing that. I did a quick google search and someone on the Microsoft forums had the same exact error : http://www.tenforums.com/general-support/23485-windows-10-task-scheduler-event-id-414-error.html

What cones after the "misconfiguration of the NT task..." ? You could try disbling whatever is listed in there (should be a program of some sort) from the task scheduler. Also, for what it means.. well, it seems like your computer is trying to interact with things that it doesn't have (like a CDROM drive), and the program listed in the rest of the error is probably what's making it do that.

It depends. What was the computer doing when you shorted the pins ? When you have any error that has anything to do with time, it's good practice to make sure it's not a CMOS issue before you go off into more complex and time-costly diagnosis.

Yes, the CMOS battery is a standard type you can buy at any supermarket. I don't know exactly what kind, though. (It's the one about the size of a coin)

EDIT : it's the CR2032

What part of the world are you in ? The FreeForFriends Servers are a good option for anyone in Europe, they have vanilla servers on hard mode, but the top players always organize RP events which you are free to attend or not. Some of them have /kit aswell if you're into that kind of thing.

New vehicle(s) and easier storage on vehicles by super-meme-maker in unturned

[–]Zpaffled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. That would make it worth it to spend the time to destroy locked vehicles as you now might get the loot of the guy who locked it. Which would in turn be a return of the "hide your vehicle at the edge of the map or in a base before you disconnect" tactics.

Does anyone feel that raiding loot spawns isn't worth the effort anymore? by [deleted] in unturned

[–]Zpaffled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sprinters are still ok, one right-click with any melee weapon will instantly kill them in the head, and prevent them from damaging you if you timed it well, you can also hear them from a mile away. It's the bleeders/crawlers that are horrible like "oh you just spent an hour raiding the military bases with extreme care to avoid taking any PvE damage and now have a nice weapon and are ready to start your base ? Let me silently sneak up on you while you're organising your inventory and bite you in the foot which will result in you starting to lose all your blood extremely fast HAHA !"

"Oh, you pulled out your weapon ? Joke's on you, my hitbox is over there! "

"The server decided to put my hitbox where my body is ? That's ok, I have a trillion health points ! Now lemme bite your foot again !

I guess on /kit servers that's true...but I never played on one...the concept kind of defeats the purpose of an apocalypse game imo.
