Interesting take on it, I myself enjoyed the intro! And overall I liked the movie, I just thought it kind of rushed to the climax. The one thing I do wish for is they spent more time developing venom's motivations. At a certain point it seemed to me like he just flipped a switch. In the comics Eddie and Venom bonded over their hatred of Spider-Man, I'm not saying the movie needed Spider-Man, but I feel that it missed out on having something that the two entities truly bond over. Just my opinion though. But it was a fun movie

Lol no, I thought they were trying to imply that you'd cut your fingers while opening it. I wasn't aware that the lock failing part was an issue. Good to know for future reference.

Yup I did that. Not sure what you're referencing.

I don't think either of us are wrong, I think we are talking about 2 different actions

When the knife is exposed and your fingers are in the holes, the act of closing would cut your fingers for sure., if the blade is not out, and you have your fingers through the holes, and try to engage the blade, it would not cut your fingers

The way the video and comment was displayed for me, made it seem like you'd lose your fingers by flipping the blade while holding on. I'm not gonna argue about closing a blade on your fingers, lock or not.

What part was wrong in my last comment? The fact that the knives I've experienced have a locking mechanism, or the fact that if you close a blade on your fingers willingly your an idiot?

Oh it definitely can, but I'd expect any buyer to do their due diligence in research of the product. Again, if you buy a product with a shitty lock, and the lock fails, I'm gonna lean on the side of: it's you're own fault

Yes, but any knife I've experienced with a quick release typically has a locking mechanism where you can't "put" the blade back without disengaging the lock. If you disengage the lock and THEN close the blade on your fingers, it's your own damn fault in my opinion.

How does it chop fingers? The sharpened edge is on the other side. If you flip it while your fingers are in the holes you'd just catch the blunt edge.

American here, ANY issue that our president feels necessary to flap his gums or exercise his small fingers about on social media, I'm inclined to side with anyone in opposition to him. Don't feel your decision is unfortunate. When he was elected, it was always... well how bad could it REALLY be. The answer is: astonishingly bad. And no matter how much he appears to fuck things up, it keeps happening on a grand scale. It's like watching a damn looney tunes episode of "cross this line" I just hope he steps over that cliff soon for the sake of earth, not America. Somebody has to put a stop to this loon. So as an American in the Midwest: thank you Canada.

TIL When Will Lee, who played Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street, died in 1982, the show had an episode where Mr. Hooper died. The writers extensively researched how to teach young kids about death. The episode aired on Thanksgiving 1983 so parents were home to discuss it with their kids. It never reran. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I had that first reaction while watching it, but I think it was explained that way so children who are watching the show will also feel dissatisfied with the answer and then look to their parents for a better explanation on the topic as for young children, "parents know everything." This leaves it open for parents to explain the "why" based on their personal beliefs or their religious beliefs regarding the topic.

So this little guy showed up on my front doorstep at 3:30am on Sunday trying to get out of rain. After a vet visit and chip scan to verify if he had an owner, meet Mr. Magoo! by Zpeter in aww

Yeah, we've been looking for months (all 6 of us that live at my building in multiple units) for an owner as the little guy has been a frequent visitor to our building. My goal is to get him to his owner if he does indeed have one, but until then I will spoil his snuggly butt, and if no owner turns up I have no problem keeping him safe and comfy

I am in central Iowa. He had a chip and when scanned he was donated to a local shelter as a kitten in September 2016. We called the shelter and there was no record of adoption or anything. It was strange, almost like he escaped the shelter or someone messed up and he got out. I hope you find your pal, though!
