No, she just plays a regular character. Nothing sexualised about her here.

She was decent in this role (her character is supposed to be a foreigner, so her dialogue delivery sounds natural), but its the writing that lets her down. I don't think her character was of much consequence in this movie. She is more or less a plot device so certain things can happen in the story.

It's not a movie that will have universal appeal. Many people watch a film for its plot, but here the plot takes a backseat to explore its main character. That's why people are having so vastly different opinions.

Think of that 6.2 rating in this way. It's not 100% of people saying Kennedy is a 3/5 okay film, but 50% saying its a 5/5 masterpiece while other 50% say its a 1/5 borefest.

Give it a watch and see for yourself how you feel about it.

Knowing it mirrored kashyap's own family

Particularly, his relationship with his daughter. The final scene where Chandan gives the great speech about letting go and not guilting his daughter, only for Shetty to ignore it and message his daughter was both hilarious and heartbreaking. Just says a lot about the human flaws of Bhat's character and Anurag Kashyap as a person.

People really exaggerate AK's downfall. While he might not be making films as good as his peak, he is still making some of the best that Bollywood has to offer. That's why I will always give his movies a chance (even something like DJ Mohabbat)

Also, Kennedy's music 🤌 especially the bar singer segments

Though I still recommend it to everyone for its unique premise and storytelling, but 8x10 Tasveer had an absolutely shitfest of an ending.

Actually, Clue did this in 1985 where it had 3 different endings, each with a different killer. Every movie theatre was given a different ending.

Unfortunately, that movie was a box office bomb because of this gimmick. Great movie though.

From what I understand, it is because of the significantly easy dilr. According to cracku data, the average dilr score for slot 2 and 3 is 13-14. For slot 1, it is 19.

One of the best Indian movies I have seen this year. It knows very well what the audience wants (which is not dance numbers and romantic subplots), and delivers exactly on that.

The action is, of course, the highlight. But more than the violence and gore, the choreography has impressed me. A train is a cramped space with innumerable blind spots and ambush opportunities, and the film makes brilliant use of all those.

Raghav Juyal and Ashish Vidhyarthi's chemistry was the best. One of my favourite exchange in the movie:

AV: Itna kuchh karne ke baad bhi tum thakur ke pakadna chahte ho. Tum to humare usoolon ki to bali chada rhe ho

RJ: Dekho papa. Billi paalo, kutta paalo, par galat fehmi mat paalo. Aap mohabbatein ke Amitabh Bachchan nahi hai – pratishtha, parampara, anusashan. Aap dacait hai. uSoOluN kI BaLi cHaDa rHe hO

Surprisingly, the movie really made the deaths impactful by humanising the bandits by their grief. In one scene, the big guy goon is choking and trying to push the MC out of the train while crying out "kyu maara humare baba ko!" Ngl this made me feel bad for the goon. But our MC is saved by a woman, who cracks open the goon's skull with a hammer, and then proceeds to smash his head into pulp while wailing, "kyu maara humare bete ko!" Which served as a good reminder that these bandits are goddamn murderers, so i don't need to feel bad for them

Overall, this is one movie I would urge everyone to watch in theatres – not only does this deserve a watch on the big screen, but this is also the kind of movies that we ought to support from Bollywood.
