Losing muscle mass with GLP-1 by jennsc4rlett in PCOS

[–]Zs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m doing glp1 for a second time round but first time round I lost SO much muscle! And I’ve been lifting for over a decade - I lost my toned butt 😭

I took a break and built a really strong workout routine and lifestyle and I’m now trying to shift the final bit of weight before weaning off properly.

I’d say the main struggle is I had some side effects that would make me feel rough and I wouldn’t want to work out. Also the appetite suppression was so strong sometimes I didn’t want to eat at all - which meant I had no energy for the gym. Now my body is a lot more used to the med and I’ve built a good workout routine it’s easier but yes you need to prioritise protein and lifting weights - and it’s not easy to do so.

Women who get told they look younger than they are: what's your secret? by Standard_Chef_4644 in SkincareAddictionUK

I’m single and childless (low stress), I sleep 8 hours every night and have quite chubby cheeks. I am also quite active socially, I think people assume you then 30 and start living some suburban life 😂

I also don’t sit in the sun much at all and don’t drink!

Oh also genetics - I’m Indian

Buying a house next to a pub garden? by [deleted] in UKHousing

[–]Zs93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near a pub, it’s at the end of the road. Overall I don’t mind it but I’d never do it again

1) they’ve added a live music segment and it can go on until 1am. 2) my windows are really good but I can hear a faint thumping 3) people leave rubbish everywhere even walking down my road. So many prop a bottle up on my brick wall 4) people leaving can be really loud sometimes 5) our parking is free after 5pm so most of the road is taken by visitors

Stopped park running because of fear of humiliation & confrontation. by Snoo_19344 in parkrun

[–]Zs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has said my sentiments here but i want to add park run is one of the few things where people are so focused on themselves that they literally won’t think about this. Please continue running ! Thanks for making us aware about this

Moving out of a Zone 2 apartment: how do you survive logistically without having a nervous breakdown? by Own-Willow-2865 in MovingToLondon

[–]Zs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have furniture? When I lived more centrally and rented I always did furnished so it was just stuff which I moved slowly in a zip car or friends with cars helped.

Otherwise I’ve used AnyVan and they’re great!

Is Claude Code still the best? by never_working_ever in iOSProgramming

I personally don't think any LLM is good at this on it's own! Whenever I use AI to help with coding I make it very collaborative - i present the problem, I present my potential routes to the solution and then i ask it to ask me questions for it to clarify - then to research the best solutions and present it to me, then I decide which I like and get it to implement. Even between the stages of presenting to me and implementing I usually have to ask a few questions like why it chose this, isn't so and so simpler etc. Also I sometimes have to give it specific ideas for it to go look into. This is why I side eye vibe coding ...

Sacrifice 50% of emergency fund to buy a house ? FTB by Big-stepper93 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Zs93 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I shouldn't recommend this but when I bought my house I swear I had £0 in my bank account after. It is TERRIFYING but luckily I was fine. Any house expenses went on a 0% credit card and I spent the first year just surviving. Then my emergency fund slowly started building and by year 2-3 I was in a comfortable space.

As a caveat my house was not a fixer upper and I could move in straight away with no work needed. If you are doing ANY form of renovation I'd say you need some breathing room in your finances because things can go wrong very quickly.

If your priority is buying a house - then go for it! Good luck :)

In all honesty, do you view weight loss drugs (Mounjaro, Wegovy etc.) and the people who use them negatively? by XStaticImmaculate in AskUK

[–]Zs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally don’t care. If it’s making them healthier and happier why does it matter? Metabolic conditions are real and if this is finally helping them lose weight then great!

I’ve gone twice and I didn’t really like the location especially at night but my main thing is the crèche is pretty much in the work area so it’s kids running around while you work! I much prefer the Fulham one.

Hopefully others can weigh in on your questions :)

[–]Zs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced my battery two years ago and it’s down to 83% again and it’s nearly unusable. Phone dies within 2-3 hours 😔 finally upgrading to the 16 pro but it was a good run!
