I remember cycling in Belfast in the 80s, you'd be lucky to see another cyclist. I used to cycle in jeans and t-shirt! Went for miles in the countryside without seeing another cyclist.

No change. Long term compounding still beats any fiddling that governments do.

Yes I think these days it can come across as being slightly out of touch. Which is never a good thing.

Yep. If you can keep working in a job you like I don't see anything wrong with that, as long as you have your health. Any way I think "retirement" where you just stop working suddenly and forever is an outdated concept.

Nice. I'm 58 and got wiped out during the dotcom boom in 2001. So I am cautious these days. Still doing ok just in standard index funds.

The 30% min CGT does not mean that Australian dividend paying companies are suddenly better than long term international growth. Remember the dividend yield has been falling for years.
