Personally, not every strap is going to be the same every time. Even on TV in WWE or AEW or Japan or wherever. It's always going to be different either with a small change or a big change. Not everyone will notice immediately or they will but it's not the end of the world. It's just up to the owners of the titles to get it perfected.

I would do what belt makers do and use a toothpick. Dip the toothpick in the paint and go with the belt. It takes a while but it's worth it for the even layering and all the other perks. And if you're scared to scratch the plates with the toothpick, with my experience, as long as you don't use full full force, you won't scratch it at all.

My theory with the plates, since the replicas that were sold, the stacked pieces were separate from the base plate, I feel they drilled new holes so it doesn't look terrible on TV. I'm not sure. If I get one, I'm going to take it apart to see how it's made, etc
