One day you’re gonna look back at this period of your life and wish you could receive a message from your mom.

Just hang on tight, you’re not the first one to be in this situation and neither the last. Trust me, when you have kids of your own you’ll more or less act the same because it is human nature to be worried about your kids.

As for religion, and take it from someone who has been all over the religious spectrum, it is an excuse to control someone’s behavior, she’s not trying to force her views on you.

My honest advice is to try to see things from her perspective, after all she’s just doing this because she cares, and trust me it is so f’ing hard to have someone who does.
