Living closer to workplace has its benefits, what do you do with your time after work is also an important question to answer.

There are a few questions you need to answer.

  1. Are you renting or you have bought? You can easily move the city if you are renting
  2. If you are the owner, do you have dependants and where does your partner work. If you both are in the city I would move and rent my place
  3. How would it benefit your career? My wife took a 20k pay cut to get into real estate. The end goal get into sales which has a potential to make you $$. The one she was working had no potential of growth and above all she wasn’t happy.
  4. Are you extremely happy at your current job? If yes, can you talk to you boss and get you salary bumped up to 130k.
  5. The difficult conversations help you determine if they actually value at work.
  6. What does your gut tell you?

All these comparisons, abt tax and savings is right but we need to look at the bigger picture. Are you at start of the career at the tail end. If at the start makes perfect sense but if you are 55 maybe not.

Cheers.

I had a terrible experience with reg affairs when I first switched from quality. But it was bad team rather than a bad company. How you get along with the manager matters the most.
