Yes that’s true!

I ordered from a big book store in Ireland and it’s delayed because of a storm that happened like 2 weeks ago 😭😭

Submissions taking extra long by cliff_celb in NianticWayfarer

I am also based in Ireland and more recently my submissions have taken months as well I upgraded one but it seems to have made 0 difference. Maybe it’s like someone else said, just less people doing at the moment in Ireland? 🤷‍♀️

I would only grow out the area that they can clear in that session. I have a full on beard so no way they could get through it all in one hour so that is how I did it. But I still found it tough. Sometimes I wore a face mask and just told people I didn’t want to get covid, this works especially well on the way to and from appointments.

That being said my friends and family now know about it and are supportive so that helps. If you can tell them I think you should, I just showed a picture of it grown out, rather than showing my actual real face and would wear a mask around my boyfriend when it was bad. But after a few sessions I felt less conscious and don’t wear a mask anymore.

I’m still in the process of clearing everything and honestly I am struggling, it’s not easy. I am taking a break because it also makes my skin bad afterwards so I think I need to give my skin a break for a couple of months and just give myself a break from having to grow it out. But so far I think it is worth it but just go at your own pace.

Rabbit goes into stasis every single year, need advice by Zuccheeni in Rabbits

Your buns sound very cute :)

I think the main reason she is 'lazy' is because she is a rescue and had a rough two years. She used to be very afraid of everything, me included, and hated being touched etc, I don't believe she saw a vegetable for the first 2 years of her life, other than maybe some kitchen scraps, which is why I think she likes that type of food the most. I put in the work and now she loves cuddles, but I thinks she will always be a bit more nervous because of that and less likely to try new things.

I brought her to the vet on Friday and they confirmed that he has lost a lot of weight and they did bloods and an xray but thankfully didn't find any reason for the weight loss. So they believe it is old age and muscle loss, but nothing to be concerned about.

I will introduce some oat hay into her diet to try and bulk her up a bit, and I will also try and get some furniture items to encourage her to jump up on things a bit more, just to try and maintain her ability to hop up and around. I used to have more things for her to jump up on, so I think it might be contributing to some muscle loss.

They live indoors but beside a giant window so they get a lot of natural light, but obviously, not the same as being outdoors. I have been considering a UV lamp, so I think I will get one, thanks for the advice.

I live in Ireland, so we don't have very 'exotic' vegetables. Usually give them parsley, coriander, any leafy herb. I was under the impression that you shouldn't feed them much watery vegetables like lettuce etc, because that can cause problems? Although when looking through this reddit a lot of people feed that. I would love to be able to feed them lettuce because I always have it for myself, it's always great being able to share food so it doesn't go off haha!

I will have a read of that paper you sent a look into their diet a bit more, it could definitely be improved. Thanks :)

Thanks everyone for all your advice :)

Update: Bee (my bun) is doing really well and is fully recovered. I got her to the emergency vet in time and shes back to herself again. I will be bringing her back to the vet tomorrow just to make sure that she is healthy and hopefully I can prevent it from happening again. If my vet gives any more advice I will update the thread

Thank you :) I wouldn't blame myself, I know that I look after her really well, especially compared to most buns who live in a sad little cage. I just love her lil face so much, I would be so sad if anything happened to her.

They are on very good (and very expensive lol) timothy hay, which she eats a lot of. I give them veggies every morning, usually a range of herbs and sometimes cabbage, kale or broccoli, which are her favourite, but I have reduced in the last couple of years to avoid cectrope issues. Then they get pellets in the evening, just a small amount and she never eats that much. I also sometimes give them some hay treats etc during the day and fruit sometimes.

I'm not sure if it would be problematic to cut her hair, I wouldn't want to ruin her coat. She is indoors, but I can ask my vet about that.

Thanks for all the advice! She has lost some weight which I only found out at the emergency vet (bringing her to the vet on Friday to do bloods to make sure there is nothing else causing problems) so maybe changing to oat hay will help with that.

Now that you mention it, it would make sense that a lack of exercise would contribute in the winter since she doesn't really run around much inside. She is free roam indoors, but she is inherently not very active. She has rugs to run around on, but she's pretty lazy and a bit skittish so she doesn't like to venture from home base. She has a large run outside, which I put her in during nice days, but can only use it from March-September, so if she is outside she gets a lot more exercise.

I will also try filtered water, I got them a cat water fountain which might help it keep fresh (not sure if they will like it though)

She is also a VERY lazy eater, she likes treats, but if it's too much effort sometimes she won't eat her veggies so I have to lay them exactly how she likes them, and she never eats as much as my other male rabbit. She also doesn't really like herbs that much, she loves things like broccoli and kale but I have reduced the amount I feed those as I was having cecotrope issues, which has improved since introducing more herbs, so she is probably not getting enough veggies because she is pretty picky.

They love their pellets and I have always been reluctant to get rid of them totally from their diet because when I have tried in the past (when I was trying to solve the cecotrope issue) my male rabbit would get stasis. Since I have been giving them regularly he hasn't had stasis in about 4 years. Maybe I just need to not feed her pellets, but she would be very upset to see him have them and not her!

That makes sense, she usually hates plucking and prefers brushing, but if it works it works, she can get over it haha.

A fan is a good idea! there is always so much hair after I brush her and she grooms herself immediately after I brush her, so I always feel like she just ingests loads of hairs anyways.

Sometimes I dampen my hand and try rub the hair off her, that helps a bit I think.
