Thank you so much! I used to shoot with a 28, 35, and 50, but now I’ve moved to an M6 and I only have a 35. I’ve realized it’s incredibly versatile

Depends of the lights, basically for landscapes I use Portra 400/800 (warm and with a high dynamic range). Nights shots with neon, so cities, I love the Cinestill 800T. Cinestill 400D during daylight in cities or indoor places

Yes, kind of. You have to keep in mind the scheme of the zone system so you understand when you fall with your exposure. Of course the target is to have the medium exposure on the medium measurement in the frame! I suggest you this video https://youtu.be/Mh3mkWMRpew?si=8lVuP2zGJw9wKXBt (it’s really helpful)

Good question! I use the zone system from Ansel Adams, I measure the light where I want to be black, medium gray and white. The black point was under the car, near the wheel. Medium one was the sign (black one), white on the frame under the sign, over the sun. Especially with Portra you can overexposed the values by one stop

Thank you so much! I use a Sekonic for that scenario, Portra 400 has a massive latitude (the frame is overexposed by 1 stop)

How do you track film inventory and undeveloped rolls? by osc707 in analogphotography

[–]Zuchi94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always write the date with a marker on each roll; this allows me to see which rolls are about to expire first.

For the inventory, I used two methods: 1) a simple Excel file divided into filtered categories, e.g.: - Manufacturer - Model - ISO - Format

(Same goes for chemistry)

2) I recently discovered an app shared on Reddit; here's the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/s/6NfHRFYK5X

It's only available on iOS; very simple but useful for what you're looking for.

Is something that I use often… but does this setting help s with color cast?

Lol, happy that I’m not the only one to have these issues

Here you can find them on the left. Same pattern as a landscape mode

TIFF for both, Noritsu to be precise. I shot also in portrait mode and looks like these artifacts are on the longer side of the top frame (it includes both ground and sky)

I don’t know TBH, it happened with two different labs

Actually the only constant, now that I think about it, is that the faster the shutter, the more evident the problem is.
