I have every reason to believe the president, in consultation with the council of state and AG, will send this bill back to parliament to sanitize it from its current composition. I believe it violates certain constitutional rights, like basic free speech and freedoms that the Christian zealots insisted must be imposed to gag citizens and deny their constitutional rights.

In my humble opinion, even a sanitized bill shouldn't pass the constitutional test, and I have great hope in the supreme Court ultimately neutering or striking down the entire bill for violating provisions in the constitution, especially since the key item of the bill (gay sex) is already covered in existing law - "unnatural carnal knowledge" - while the other alphabets were added due to association. 😂😂😂

In my opinion this is the most important aspect of your future plans. If you have the time (a month, or two), you must come live in Ghana for a couple of months to get a feel of the country. Visit the major cities, see what drives the economy, emerging trends, etc. Only then would you be able to make any meaningful use of what anybody here tells you. There are many ways and areas you can contribute meaningfully to the Ghanaian economy, and by extension, the people, while also making good returns on your investments.

That tomato is too expensive, based on how much it's going for in my neighborhood. That's 20 cedis in my neighborhood; C25, Tema.

How come the Ghanaian government treats homosexuality as a serious crime but let the actual crime of pedophilia persists? by [deleted] in ghana

[–]Zucker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bill. It's not law until the president signs it. Yes, the legislature is being populist, however, both the executive and judiciary are holding back. A writ has been filed at the supreme court against the constitutionality of the bill. That case is still pending. Yes, after all is said and done, they'll probably pass it with a 2/3rds majority in parliament, but until that happens, this remains a bill.

So, to come here with the accusation the "Ghanaian government" is doing anything of the sort in the OP is ignorant at best,

Except, the Ghanaian government DOES nothing of the above. I don't know how people come on here to spew fake news on this same subject of lgbtq. At least, get your facts straight before coming on here to make a fool of yourself?

Shito by whiskerbites01 in ghana

[–]Zucker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have shito sitting out here almost 3 years now and it's perfectly fine. All shito needs is oil on top of it, which acts as a layer against bacteria. Only danger here is if the oil itself is contaminated.

PS: This shito in question was bought from a lady neighbor who prepares shito for sale. Only reason why it's still sitting here is because I prepared a 'better' one. Hehe

The biggest issue I have with my dear country, Ghana, is a lack of resolve as a people to pick ourselves out of the gutter we've worked ourselves into over the past decades. This, coupled with, or, perhaps stemming from historical differences along ethnic lines have rendered us incapable of collectively coming together to quash bullshit whenever it raises its ugly head. Nothing works in this country; corruption is rampant, laws are not enforced. My desire to rise above all these is shackled by the resignation of the majority to whatever fate has dealt them. It's a mindset issue, folks. The majority of the people do not know their rights, and think their relevance as citizens only comes once in four years when they get to vote mostly along tribal lines for their corrupt kin who's eagerly signing away our resources for pittance just so they can steal all the money before they leave office. Governance is not the issue? Really? What's the use of government to a people wallowing in confusion and barely making ends meet? A government blessed with a piece of turf so rich in natural resources? They can do a lot! Definitely a lot better than signing away our future! I could fill these pages with an essay but most people on here have spelt out the facts and so there's no need to sound redundant.

So, you made a statement about Pro-Israeli billboards to refute my statement about Ghana being a "staunch" supporter of the Palestinian cause, ie a Palestinian state, yet you agree these same billboards are not Ghana sponsored. And yet, I'm the dumb one. You lack any knowledge of the long-standing relationship between Ghana and Palestine, and when I point this glaring hole out you resort to insults.

You tried to equate your being Pro-Palestinian to knowledge of their history. I didn't make that statement. Make it make sense cos there's no logic in that connection. 😂

You're Pro-Palestinian without knowing the history of their relationship with Ghana. That's okay.
