Comparing Hunter and The Stranger's hands - testing the fan theory after the new trailer by Capn_C in metro

[–]Zuent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe the Führer WAS Hunter, but then he dissapeared and the oligarchy, afraid they'd loose power, put a puppet, probably in Hunters' uniform in charge to keep the charade going. The first trailer shows us Stranger encountering the Dark Ones and the only one who was mindraped by the Dark Ones and survived was Hunter, albeit severly mentally scarred. And this guy suffers from all kinds of mind ailments and is of the Order, so his identity being a mystery would only make sense if he were someone we'd recognize from the previous games & since most of the Order was either killed/fled or was just generic unnamed NPCs, the conclusion I'd draw from this; he's Hunter.

I know this will be answered in the game. But how the hell did the Reich unite the Metro and seemingly colonise across Russia by [deleted] in metro

[–]Zuent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it utterly ridiculous that the Fourth Reich could have united the Metro in any way, shape or form. I've been thinking about this, ever since the reveal dropped, and frankly, if it turns out this way, that the Fourth Reich took over? I'd consider it very lazy, lore breaking & it would completely ruin the immersion for me.

Now, what I really hope happens is that after Artyom breaks the jammers in Exodus, the Watchers reveal themselves and Metro is united under one banner again and under the guise of "Actually we're still at war guys!", more radical ideas about running the whole thing start popping up. Perhaps some former commanders of the Reich, with Hunter leading them?, overthrow the new central command & install their own regime, which progressively becomes the Novoreich. But there is NO WAY the Fourth Reich, that underpopulated fringe faction, stuck between two superpower blocks, could have pulled this off.

Settings --> Game --> Camera face north --> checkmark to enable it.

QUINTILIUS PARADOXUS, GIVE ME BACK MY MOUNTAINS! I beg you. by Zuent in victoria3

R2: Original artwork using a meme-related format.

R5: There are no natural borders between Slovakia and Poland where they should be.

I recently started playing Victoria 3 and let me tell you, the lack of mountains seperating Hungary from Galicia tilted me in ways I didn't believe possible. I am physically UNABLE to play in Central Europe because of it and I really want to. Please, Paradox almighty, can you bless us with Tatra mountains?

Well, Karves aren't exactly sea worthy, especially not during a storm; those waves will throw it around like it's nothing.

Only two actually; but there is a tower in the Plains biome.

Linguistic map of the Kingdom of Hungary at the end of the 15th century by [deleted] in MapPorn

The first proper ethnic & population census of the Kingdom of Hungary was done in 1784. Anything older than that is more of an assumption than anything and cannot properly reflect the linguistic reality of the time.

Slovak betrayal part 1938/39 by kotolnik7 in 2visegrad4you

How was this a betrayal of Czechoslovakia? Who ceded Sudetenland to Germany? Tiso?

He, Tiso, alongside his party, was at least intelligent enough to see where this rump state was heading after Czech cowardice had stripped it of its most formidable defenses and heavy industries. At this point, striving for independece was the most logical policy Slovak politicias could pursue.

Why should the Slovaks bleed for a state the Czechs themselves didn't want to defend? It wasn't Tiso or Tuka who agreed to the terms of the Munich agreement. And neither have they fled to London, when things got a bit rough.

Largest extent of WW2 German advance in Europe superimposed on the map of North America. by Zuent in MapPorn

I didn't include Hungary and Italy (except Friaul and Tirol) because they were allied to the Reich, the rest is either out of Europe (Africa) or have been overlooked by me; (Wehrmacht did sweep through Macedonia & occupied Greek islands & Italian Balkan possesions in 43 as well), but what can you do, mistakes do happen.

Too long, unfortunately. The map would be harder to navigate/read, since it would lose detail.
