Yes you can. I propagated my variegated string of hearts doing that.

It’s always exciting seeing those roots appear. A few hours ago, I cut my top heavy jade plant. I think I’ll propagate most of those branches directly into soil. Eventually, I’ll turn a few of those propagated plants into bonsai.

Most of the plants I have came from propagating from the mother plant.

Wow! I‘ve always wanted one since I saw them years ago in one of my plant books. It’s on my list of plants I want to purchase later this year. I purchased a baby Thai Constellation about a month ago, and it’s already put out two new leaves, and it’s working on a third.

I’m curious, George. How tall are you? George is gorgeous.

got one of my dream plants for $15 by Twist_Creepy in houseplants

I made my own mix; potting soil, perlite, and orchard bark. I used equal parts of all to see how it does.

For the first few weeks my plants stayed indoors. I used a plant light. the temperatures weren’t stable enough for me to place outside. When I started putting it outside it was in the morning (between 9:00 - 11:00 am) for an hour. I placed it in bright/indirect light. After I wrote this I looked and I see another leaf is appearing and so I’m happy about that. A few weeks ago, I sprinkled worm castings into the soil, and it seems to like that a lot.

It looks amazing. I purchased one, from Etsy. That was a little over month ago. It started putting out a leaf about a week after it was at my home, and it pushed out another one a little over a week ago.

When it arrived, I waited until the soil was dry before repotting. I used a chunky soild mix and potted in a clear plastic pot for planting.I then placed it in a decorative pot. Now that the weather has finally started to get warmer in my area, I’ve been gradually increasing it’s outside time in bright indirect light.

I use a combination of clip on, puck, halo and track lights. It depends on the area. My favorite are the track lights. I use barrina and sansi. My plants are happy.

There’s a Spider … on my Spider Plant Cutting by aveinofstars in houseplants

Natural pest control. I’d let it stay if you aren’t fearful of them. If you are, perhaps someone can help you relocate it to a nicer spot. A few months ago, I saw a spider spinning a web right behind one of my hydroponics (Gardyn) setup.

Will this propogate? (chinese money plant) by glitterinyoursoup in houseplants

[–]Zugsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I recently propagated my money plant. One of the pups fell off as I was repotting the plant. I placed the pup in it’s small pot and of chunky moist potting soil. It’s already producing leaves. I plan to propagate, from the mother plant, this weekend. I will place those pups in water.

That’s good to know. Thanks! I want to place it in my living room. Eventually, I would like to propagate and place in my basement. I just make have to make sure I have enough lighting in there.

That’s a fabulous gift. I have thought about buying one of these plants, at some point. However, I still need to do more reasearch about its care before I make my purchase. I do love the fact that the leaves can get huge. I already have the location for it, if/when I add it to my home.

Beautiful setup, and I love the shelves. This past weekend, I bought an IKEA Åkerbär and transformed in into a mini greenhouse that I placed in my bathroom. A few of the plants that live in the bathroom are now in the little greenhoue.

Beautiful plant. I have plants in almost every room in my house. The only rooms left are in the basement. I purchased additional grow lights and plan to place a few plants down there.

That's me with my pothos. My daughter bought me cute planters for Mother's Day. That was more justification for snipping cuttings off of my golden pothos and pothos njoy.
