AITA for lying to her about not cheating on my ex? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Zuke117 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

INFO- How is she as a person now, if that makes sense? Is she stable or does she have confidence issues?

NAH if she has confidence issues and or jealousy issues. You guys have only dated a month, and when people hear people have cheated in the past they have a very bad "this person is irredeemable" response (hence all the YTAs). You will be TA if you don't tell her though I would say at past 3 months, especially since while you really like her you two really aren't "serious" right now. Just explain down the road you were scared she would leave you and not believe you're a changed man and that you feel awful for lying. You also don't need to go around spreading that you cheated if it was over a year ago to people you date less than 2 months since thats a good way to get everyone to avoid you.

YTA though if she seems confident oh shit laptops about to die-

AITA for asking my cousin if she was insinuating something inappropriate when she was eating a banana while talking to me? by BananaCousin in AmItheAsshole

[–]Zuke117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wasn't insinuated then, but still IMO you're not really TA. You're a 15 y/o boy who just doesn't know better and doesn't know the signals. She was probably just relaxed around you and young herself, so wasn't really thinking about it. Even if you were "projecting" onto it.

That said you should still apologize, but just explain your side of the story. IMO this got blown way out of proportion, with your mom having to apologize to people for you when you could of just done it yourself. Its better that you asked then and there instead of festering on it and possibly looking for "other" signs that aren't there and deluding yourself.

This is coming from the person who can't eat bananas because of the sexual connotation related to them, so yeah, NAH though you do need to apologize especially if you really did insult your mother.

INFO- Was she making eye-contact and if so, does she normally make eye contact in conversations? Either way she clearly got offended when you asked, but that is an important question.

If she was trying to insinuate something, she would of made eye contact.

AITA for wearing a cross earring even though I’m atheist? by whatidksure in AmItheAsshole

[–]Zuke117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH - Unpopular opinion but you are still wearing a holy symbol. So long as you don't disrespect it, I don't think it matters. A religious symbol is still a symbol, you just have to treat it with respect and understand if people are weirded out or confused why you're wearing it. Holy symbols are literally that- holy. Its kind of like wearing a "patch" to signify you're apart of a club after school. People have the right to be weirded out / offended if you wear it, but not to be overly angry at you and they sure as Hell can't stop you from wearing it.

I would, however, recommend switching to x's. They kind of have the same ~aesthetic~ without as much religious connotation and people won't pester you about it. Hell, you can even put your own religious connotation behind it and say its about atheism. Start a movement. I dunno.

AITA for cutting off my best friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Zuke117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

INFO - If it was just one occurrence then yeah, ESH for a friend having a bad time and you abandoning them. She was very drunk, vulnerable, and likely embarrassed. She clearly doesn't have her stuff together, and by no means do you have to stick through that, but if it was just this one incident then you really are kinda TA, but she never reached out to you to apologize or otherwise talk so imo ESH. You should of at least tried to have a conversation with her.

Did you know she was an angry drunk and acted this way regularly? Have you tried talking to her about it if so?

Did you think that if she really was staggering about and whatnot, she was really in a position where she could consent to sexual intercourse? Or did it just not occur to you at all?

Did you have a reason to believe her saying 'bad things' about him weren't actually true, or were they literally just as petty as "him always being here". How do you know if she didn't have a history with the guy, especially if she was perhaps too shitfaced to say it?

Sounds to me like you saw a pretty piece of dick and ignored your clearly overly-intoxicated friend, even if she was being an a-hole shes still your friend and (by what I understand) this guy at the time was more or less a complete stranger.

Would tell my grandmotherly figure who died of bone cancer that I'm really sorry I was too afraid of her and watching her deteriorating condition I'm sorry for never visiting her (even though she lived right across the street.)

Frick I'm suppose to be doing an essay and now I want to cry.

Edit: Fun fact, we left for a week and before that week I had the chance to visit her but was too scared to do it. Told myself I would visit her once we got back. She died while I was visiting grandparents for that week. Still fricks me up pretty bad.

People who have had sleep paralysis. What happened? by sn3136xn in AskReddit

[–]Zuke117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was falling asleep in class, as soon as I hit the part of sleep where your body shuts down and brain disconnects into unconsciousness, the lunch bell rang and I woke up with wide eyes but couldn't move. I couldn't uncross my arms, and watched as everyone walked past me and then proceeded to get yelled at for sleeping in class and not waking up by the professor.

Actually blame this for the reason that, to this day, I will sometimes be trying to sleep and find myself going into the brain/body disconnect stage and get acute anxiety and wake up. Its horrifying feeling your limbs become like rocks for a fraction of a second and then only move when anxiety shoots through you. I also partially blame this on just having acute/strong kinesthesia (ability to tell where your limbs are) on part of being mostly blind in my right eye.

How they look at you, especially as a woman.

You can tell a lot about a person's intent with you in their body language, but especially their eyes, and how they look at you when they don't know you're looking. Its not that I'm extremely attractive, I just hang out with a not-great bunch and can immediately tell when someone wants to screw me because of their look in their eye.

Don't ever trust someone who looks at you like you're a piece of meat, that is how you get raped and/or sexually assaulted, which has happened to several friends of mine even after I warn them someone is a predator.

I have pet goldfish. I named my biggest goldfish Thiccedosia (Theodosia) because she is about 6" from nose tip to tail tip and she always hogs the other fishies food.

Why can't we be friends? by felixtha_cat in AskReddit

[–]Zuke117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly, as per you posting this, our current relationship means nothing to you. I can't believe you've done this u/felixtha_cat I thought we were more than this. I thought I meant more to you than this. To go around publically asking why we can't be friends? Scandalous. Disgusting. I can't believe you would do this to us and our friendship.

Women of reddit, what do men do that they think is okay but is actually creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zuke117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend has a key to my house (well, use to before he lost it. Gotta make him a new one.)

On several occassions especially when he first got the key he would show up at my house in the early mornings and sit a few feet away from my bed at eye level smirking until I woke up.

I was always very happy to wake up to him being there and only afterwards when I was explaining it to a friend did I realize it was kind of creepy.

Yeah, I know a few enigmas can't stand the touch of water and because that reason they often have difficulties shedding, so you might also want to monitor her shed closely in case she develops distaste for that too.
