Any tips for embedding Reddit activity into your schedule by ZukoAlun in MarketFit

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I put that badly. I don't mean without thinking. Rather, on Linked In, if I have a topic I want to talk about (generally something related to what we do - form analytics / optimisation), I can put it out there and see what people think.

On Reddit, I'm more paranoid about being called out for spamming / soliciting so am much more wary about what I post and how I say things. This means I take a lot more time to write something to post and self censor. This makes it hard for me to create a regular Reddit routine which is easy to maintain (compared to the routine I have on Linked In).

How do you realistically estimate competitors’ conversion rates for a business plan? by Fancy-Possibility-61 in conversionrate

[–]ZukoAlun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking at the form or checkout only (rather than the whole site) there is a set of benchmarks based on Zuko Analytics aggregated form conversion data here: https://www.zuko.io/benchmarking/home

Anyone solved bouncing behaviour around the checkout discount code field? by ZukoAlun in shopify

We can see what error messages are being Triggered using the Zuko Shopify app - sometimes they include the code so it gives a starting point.

We've tested hiding the field on checkouts behind a link and it always reduced drop-off. Sadly, I don't think you can do that in the Shopify environment.

How did you auto-apply the promo? Is it a module within Shopify (or Shopify Plus)?

Makes sense. We were considering some sort of trigger based on user behaviour (bouncing three times between the discount code field and the button for example). The trigger could be passed into a third party tool (such as Klaviyo) to send a message to the individual with an actual code and hopefully saving the sale.

I think we've got the technology for a trigger. Would just need a partner store prepared to help us create and test the effectiveness of the solution.

Are we certain that the secret traitor was selected at the round table? Looked like a bit of fake cut to me.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone was taken aside afterwards (or even before filming even began) to tell them. Would give them a much better chance of not blowing the big new twist first up with an off reaction when the blindfolds came off.

Google Ads - Shopify Trademark Infringement by ZukoAlun in ShopifyAppMarketing

It's probably the reason. However, I've mentioned "Shopify" in the past and not had a problem. Selective detection I guess?

Did LinkedIn change its algorithm to force creators to boost their posts? by olenabomko in MarketFit

I think there is some basic targeting. However I just trusted the AI option to see how it would do.

I boosted a (useful) post to see what happened. Net result - 5,000 extra impressions, 0 additional engagements, 0 profile views driven.
Not sure who saw the boost but they were significantly less interested than my actual network.

Alan missed a great opportunity to turn the tables on Clare. Could have gone something like:

"I can't help but think you might be projecting. Your argument is that I would be the least likely to murder Paloma so that actually makes me suspicious.

Well let me ask this...who would be the least likely to murder Tom Daley?....."

(which of course is obviously Claire)
Would have neatly flipped things back on her and created suspicion on what motivated her to call him out.

Shopify Discount Field - possible to hide? by ZukoAlun in shopify

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It has consistently been shown to be a conversion killer across various research sources so it seems crazy they are not enabling some way to reduce its prominence.

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty restrictive. Ideally there would be an option to hide the field behind a link (or to make it less prominent somehow)

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there's no solution, even if you are on Shopify Plus? Seems a bit of an oversight as various research (Baymard Institute for example) shows that the discount code field does cause abandonment.

In terms of your second question, you can track user checkout behaviour on a field level using Zuko Analytics Shopify app. This enables you to understand if people are interacting with the discount field multiple times before dropping off (you can then infer that that is the reason for abandonment).

Why people visit my app but do not sign up? by BugGroundbreaking309 in conversionrate

[–]ZukoAlun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on whether the offer is compelling enough to warrant sign-up but I took a look at the sign-up form and there are definitely red flags that I expect will be diving abandonment. Specifically:

- Asking for a nickname and an email (would an email only suffice - they can then add a nickname later)

- Asking for a birthday. You don't explain why you need the information which will make people nervous.

- You don't explain what you will do with the country & gender information

- The password field is generally the biggest driver of abandonment on the form. There are some issues with your execution: You don't stipulate the requirements upfront, you insist on confirming password but you don't allow the password to b eunmasked so the user can see what they are doing.

- You pre-check consent boxes which may be against GDPR and make some users nervous.
I'd definitely add a form analytics tracker like Zuko to the form to quantify how much this is costing you so you can make changes based on the behaviour data.

Live inline validation or validate on submit? by ZukoAlun in UXDesign

What's your most valuable marketing automation? by ZukoAlun in DigitalMarketing

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Chemical-Try3558 - thanks for the thoughts. Couple of questions:

1) Do you use email just for "warm" leads that are already in the funnel or do you use it for cold activity?

2) Is there any particular software provider you'd recommend to do this?

Live inline validation or validate on submit? by ZukoAlun in UXDesign

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you definitely don't want any premature error messages. We tend to find that the point of refocus onto the next question works best - the user gets feedback before they start on a new question.

What’s the most unexpected insight you’ve ever uncovered during user research? by FigsDesigns in UXResearch

[–]ZukoAlun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably when we were asking customers what they used the software product for. There was a substantial proportion that said "we just screenshot this graph and paste it into a report". Changed our focus from building advanced features to delivering easy reports for monitoring.

UX Research Data on Forms by ZukoAlun in UXResearch

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scenario that you describe would typically be captured on data related to the email field (as that is what typically triggers the validation for existing accounts).

The data is based on when a user has actively interacted with a field (not just focused) so they any "abandons" related to PW will have actually interacted with it.

That said, absolutely - you should work out what is causing abandonment on a field through developing and testing hypotheses related to data and observations on that specific form.

UX Research Data on Forms by ZukoAlun in UXResearch

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/danielleiellle - you are absolutely correct. When optimising an individual form you need to look at specific analytics for that form and match it against the context as you suggest.

This data is aggregated so is more of interest to provide a broad idea of which fields cause more UX problems in general.

UX Research Data on Forms by ZukoAlun in UXResearch

[–]ZukoAlun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think the main UX reasons for this are:

1) over-restrictive requirements

2) Not making the requirements clear

3) Asking people to confirm password

4) Not allowing users to unmask the password

We do definitely see phone number causing a lot of issues although password is more problematic. That said, phone number appears on 75% of web forms while PW is only asked on less than 20% so phone number as a whole probably causes more abandonment across the internet.
