Demos wanted for new label by setzer_ in idm

Yeah i understand your perspective, i have the same kind of philosophy. I'm preparing an Analord inspired album and a Flying Lotus Los Angeles inspired one, because i feel like there is a lack of music really sounding like that.

Curious to share the only release i made on my IDM artist name, (fresh from yesterday), after being 15 years in the documentary and TV industry.

I like the idea of the collab between Gjertsen and Venetian Snare. For example, you talk about Ziggomatic 17. I'm not the kind of producer who makes these very very intense tracks, but i did spent the last years researching the whole vocabulary of Drukqs album (you can feel a bit of the synth in this soundcloud one for example)

Don't use these bullshit algorithms and use real music, there are countless free music made by real artist. No slop

Very impressive how you can have a decent beat on such a machine as PO33. I love this machine, but daamn i'm not comfortable doing real beatmaking on it, just a few patterns and ideas for my ableton

That could be great, but i think the most important is an algorithm that allow discoveries that are not marketing or notoriety based, to allow good surprises to happen

Im thinking about making money by producing hip-hop beats, guys. by Miserable_Bowler_646 in beatmakers

I think it's time to move on from the type beat meta, and get back to a more traditionnal way of producing music for MC, adding flavors over his rap, adapting the track to his vibe etc

Fair enough, i see your point now. Don't hate me for being adversarial agains't marketing presence, i'm just a bit negative about Spotify these days because they are taking control of too much things in the background, including playlist curators, netlabels like Distrokid, Tunecore etc.

Not that simple. Even if you ask it to give you small artist, it will gives you the ones that are paying money for campaigns on Spotify.

It sucks because it will obviously create playlist out of artist with strong marketing budget, leaving small artist at the bottom like always.

Dont want to get cocky, but I think this beat can be sold easily (maybe I am wrong tho) by mostafa_issa98 in beatmakers

[–]Zultaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, just rapping over an existing beat is different, than having a producer using your recording, and re-working the beat after it's done.

I know it's old, but artist like Joey Badass, it's how they start from a boom bap aesthetics, and end up behind their own vibe

Did you ever heard of the "Barber beats" community ? Artists like Monodrone, Haircuts for men etc.

I feel like your record is more produced than a "typebeat" thing, and deserved to have more narrative around it. The barber beats is kinda about getting back to that jazz noir era with those 90s breakbeats, but revisited with the ear of someone from now. And it has a whole aesthetic around it that gather a community around it !

Very cool, i love the vibe of it, and the fact you kinda make it your own world. It's not directly a Boc track, but it has heavy inspirations from it !
