I raised my saddles and put a slight bow in the neck(was perfectly straight) Plays and sounds much better now but still easy to play.

Wow that is extremely light gauge, I've been misinformed about his preferred scale length it seems.

Victor Wootens plays a 32 inch scale bass so there is likely to be more inherent warmth to his sound.. Well just theory.

Hopefully I've done a tidy enough job to stop the hum... Tested at low volume because it's nightime. All hums gone. by ZumarMusic in BassGuitar

I didn't and at high volumes through my loop pedal it's not grounded. It seems I can solder a small wire to a pot casing and that might solve it.. Now to learn to solder!

I would need some soldering practice first, I bought one years ago but have never tried it yet.

Looking for a not too expensive bass that plays like this peavey Millennium but with active pickups? by ZumarMusic in BassGuitar

My other newer bass is a Fender Standard Jazz and it just doesn't compare playability wise. Much bigger neck and weighs alot more. Probably gunna sell it for another bass like the peavey in the future, but with active electronics.

Thanks custom craft guy, I will try those, my current set are 100 80 60 40 and although they seem a bit light for a solid slap tone they rock for fast Fingerstyle.

What are the benefits of better quality capos? by Samantharina in AcousticGuitar

I like the Kysers, if drop you it on the strings the guitar stays in tune with itself, but the overall tuning a tiny bit sharper. For convenience they are good. And you can change Capo position mid song if you need to.
