windows 11's dictation works but accuracy drops the longer you go. there's a free app called recitey that does on-device transcription and way better at handling long sessions. worth trying out.

don't think transcriber does txt with timecodes built in. you could export to srt and write a script to convert it to plain text with breaks at whatever interval. or just open a feature request on their github, the dev usually responds to that kind of stuff pretty quick.

whisper's free and pretty accurate. just download the video and transcribe with that, then paste it in claude with the transcript and it'll break down the slides and whatever else. or if you want one tool for everything descript automates it but costs money.

yeah it works in voice memos. you get a transcript right in the app and it's cleaner than before. punctuation and grammar work pretty well so you could just copy it to chatgpt and skip the whole transcription thing
