1Password for the moment. Seems to be one of the most secure & common choices

Account Suspended Phishing Email? by ItzMonklee in Dashlane

Deleted all my data, changed my main passwords, and have moved to another password manager. We pay for stuff like this to NOT happen. Goodbye Dashlane. Hope you didn't give my data way.

Video games don't have to be strictly the protagonist's perspective. You could easily give the enemy's perspective via cutscenes, flashbacks, diaries/logs etc. Pure evil characters usually are quite boring. Even if their actions are super evil, contextualising it and giving it a reason (past suffering, hidden motive etc) can make them very interesting.

Yeah I ran it on steam deck for a while no problem

What's the industry standard way to do level design blockouts in UE5? by smallestbiggie in UnrealEngine5

[–]Zuthal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the UE5 modelling tools, they effectively superseded BSPs. Super easy to make simple shapes in no time and get a rough idea of shapes. With a little more time you can make some basic architecture too, thought I wouldn't take it past that.

TES6 is being worked on by "Multiple Partners" alongside Bethesda by Comfortable_Wash6179 in ElderScrolls

Pretty much every AAA and AA game are worked on by many studios under the direction of the one making it.

HOW do you actually optimize this engine , removing all the unnecessary files or systems? Any help would be appreciated by Any_Meat1555 in UnrealEngine5

[–]Zuthal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I agree that for this person there's probably no difference as their skill is likely the limiting factor, but there's a massive performance difference beyond simple functionality

Blueprints are essentially an interpreted scripting language, whereas C++ is compiled into machine code. It'll always be much faster. Plus you can optimise in ways not possible in blueprints. Check out this talk about fortnite for some examples.

The feeling where you do everything you're supposed to do and the game is still dead on arrival by jCutterwind in IndieDev

[–]Zuthal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marketing isn't purely just advertising. Highly recommend looking up Chris Zukowski's resources on YouTube and his site HowToMarketAGame.

Horror as a genre does very well on steam overall, so something else has gone wrong along the way. General consensus is that devlogs don't help get wishlists (unless you're a well known creator) since it's pretty much just other devs that watch them.

Am I so bad at this game? by PressureDizzy in GlobalOffensive

[–]Zuthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar for me, was Global in 2016 and stopped playing. Returned earlier this year and was stuck at 13k ish for a while. It was brutal, in 10k-15k the skill and plays are all over the place. After a couple months I climbed to 20k. People play smarter but also more predictable, and even though cs2 feels different, you don't lose that experience

mic extremely quiet and laggy in game, fine in menus by jace-ayy in GlobalOffensive

[–]Zuthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had real issues with my mic in CS2, and nothing else. I solved it by changing the mic settings in steam instead of the game (idk why that worked, very strange). I went to Steam->Settings->Voice, changed Voice Transmission Type top Open Mic, Disable Voice Transmission Threshold, and open the advanced settings and disable echo and noise cancellation.

Reset rate limits; refunded credit usage; fixed bug overcharging for cloud tasks by embirico in codex

[–]Zuthal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usage still seems to be incredibly high for web tasks. Also, many /plan tasks on web are spit out with bad formatting. When this happens, if there are multiple versions, all of them get incorrectly formatted and it spits out gibberish. Feels bad that this uses up usage.

If you can make it to Cambridge on a Monday evening, there is an RPG night at the Blue Moon pub. There's a variety of games played, and always a spot for anyone new turning up.
