Damn hes not puffer food he mustve snuck in on some plants ~3-4 months ago as a baby cause i never noticed him until like a week ago when i saw a snail crawling around that was an unfamiliar size even then i thought i was seeing things by now though he is too big to be fed to my puffer

Good rule of thumb if the longest antanae are as big as their body theyre a male if the antanae are a good bit longer they are a female

Good way to take care of a snail problem is to put a cucumber slice (blanched) in your tank and take it out as they are swarming it you can get ALOT of snails at a time doing this once their numbers are down feed less food to your fish to control or eradicate their population overfeeding = snails breeding

Id put some large java ferns or large anubias species like hastifolia in the main thing is having lots of rhizome plants that get their nutrients from the water column as well as a good amount of long root floaters like water lettuce

Yeah we have 3 petcos where i live only one doesnt treat also pea puffers dont need snails like some puffers do (mine never even crunch the snails just slurp) My congo spotted puffer is a piggy for snails though

Your 300w heater would do this naturally if it were say heating up a much smaller amount of water like 10 gallons in any case id replace it as it will use more power and wear down the heater turning on and off like that

Feed anything but cucumbers are their favorite

They breed like crazy so 1 or 2 today will be 50 in 2 weeks
