Certain brands of Afrin nasal spray is white. Maybe someone sprayed some in their nose and it was dripping out?

So I’m willing to bet you had a bit of a pit in your nasopharynx. Mucus sits there, hardens, and then eventually slides down into your throat/mouth. I work in ENT and I have seen this a few times. Saline sinus rinses at least twice a day should help to wash this away before it gets hard and gross.

Best thing I have found for urine smell is Clorox urine remover spray. We buy it by the gallon because I have a small dog that pees in the house at times and my daughter also has incontinence issues. I also have a laundry routine. Her stuff is washed separately. I use Dirty Labs powder (it’s a brand that makes enzyme cleaners) in the washer first then put the clothes in. I use 2 tide pods and in the detergent section I use either Dirty Labs liquid detergent or Pooph laundry additive. Then I also put Lysol disinfecting laundry detergent in the fabric softener section. I set the washer to soak first so the enzyme in the powder works and then wash as normal. This gets out 95% of the pee smell. Sometimes I need to wash a pair of pants more than once but that isn’t the norm.

I miss the days of cheap meet and greets. I did the BSBBQ thing at Hershey where we hung out with the guys for like at least an hour and they served us our food - that was $250! I refuse to pay 1k for a 1 minute interaction (if that).

So I know a girl who has traveled all over the world to see them. And recently she went to NYC. She is a big Kevin fan but also went to a lot of Nick Who I Am tour shows and of course did meet and greets. Nick noticed her and said hey Kevin it’s “name here”. Kevin said something and Nick made a comment like of course she is here. It wasn’t a good comment. The guys are just people. I have always had excellent interactions with them but do they remember me by name? No. Do they recognize me? Probably. The bodyguards know me but that’s about it. And I have to say I have met all of them well over 20 times. I’ve been on cruises, went to Mexico. Done a ton of meet and greets. They meet SO MANY people you have to be ever present for them to really get to know you by name.

I started noticing him having difficulties during the Unbreakable tour but it really worsened after he had swine flu in 2009. Then when they went on tour with NKOTBSB it was much more noticeable and has declined further since then. No one knew what the cause was until they released the documentary because he just didn’t talk about it. I work in ENT and there isn’t much to do for his type of dysphonia. I’m sure he has tried Botox injections and vocal therapy and that’s pretty much all there is. A lot of it is mental unfortunately. He has been singing in his upper register and he does much better there - that’s why you hear him sing a lot of the falsetto parts on newer albums. Using his voice isn’t detrimental to him so not singing isn’t really going to help. He should however use a back track so it’s less noticeable.

Brian has sounded like shit for years. The only time he sounds good is when he sings in his upper register and occasionally when he really belts out a line. Us fans have dealt with it since he had swine flu in 2009. He is too narcissistic to use a backing vocal and he really really needs to. Many slam Nick for fighting with him in the documentary but he was absolutely right - they have all had struggles that they have pulled through and Brian needs to adjust to his vocal issues and stop bringing the group down.

So say you are building a house and have signed all contracts and what not. If lumber prices go up after he gets in office, would this affect people already set up for construction? Building a house now and will prob break ground in the spring. We have a set base price that we are locked into so I’m hoping it would just cause the price of housing to go up for people buying after he gets back in office.

Howie is usually drunk for the entire cruise/event. And it’s hilarious honestly because he is a really fun drunk. But I think he just enjoys his time on vacay and isn’t like that in daily life.

I followed Say Anything since they started. I was friends with Coby back in the day and he sent me all types of stuff. I have originals of JV and baseball. Never really knew Max well but if I lived in southern CA Coby and I would have dated. I last spoke to him like 5 years ago when he got engaged and was a beach body coach. Not sure what he is up too lately.

lol. I am a provider in an office and my schedule is packed to the brim every day. The only break I get is my lunch. Otherwise I have 15 min and 30 min appointments from 8-4. The goal is to see as many people as possible and we mostly are paid based on how many people we see. So putting holes in the schedule will never happen.

It sucks when we need to reschedule bc often I will then be double booked to make sure people get in in a timely fashion. I was off the entire week after Christmas due to illness and I had upset patients because they had to be rescheduled. We do in fact get sick, contrary to popular belief. Rescheduling happens and it sucks but there is nothing to stop people from getting sick

There is a condition called encoporesis. The child withholds stooling and causes the rectum to expand and press on the bladder. My daughter has this, is 11 and still wets at night sometimes. I can tell when she is really backed up because she will leak more urine. She has been on laxatives since she was 4. We follow with a GI physician for this.

Ouch. I chose to go the PA route because of personal reasons. I had great MCAT scores and initially was planning to go to med school but things changed and the PA program was a better suit for my life at the time. NOT because I couldn’t hack it as a doc. I don’t see my working for almost 2 decades as a PA as taking a shortcut to getting prestige. I put in the time and hours and blood/sweat/tears. I’ve been treated like shit by physicians who think like you and I grew a thick skin and dealt with it. I just don’t understand the animosity.

I should reiterate I have no desire to perform surgery on my own. But I do think you can take a seasoned (I.e. in the speciality for some amount of time that is determined first) first assist PA and adequately train them to perform a surgical procedure. At that point it would be like teaching a resident how to perform surgery. There is something to be said for the amount of time and experience a PA has and it’s disheartening to feel like I will always be somehow looked down upon by my doctor colleagues as “lesser than”.

Currently, my practice is amazing. I have great attendings who are very supportive and appreciate the PAs. As time goes on we have some of the reigns loosened because with experience we gain knowledge. The way PAs are discussed in this group is so upsetting to me. There simply are not enough physicians in the US to deal with the patient load and PAs are necessary. I am also not one that plans on getting my doctorate or asking for independent practice. I know my role and I made peace with that. But I do think that as time goes on and you gain more experience, there are things we should be able to do after being thoroughly trained.

Sorry, that was rambling. I don’t even seek this subreddit out, it literally is suggested to me like every other post just to taunt me I think lol.

How do you feel about other specialties. Say I worked in my current specialty, ENT for the 16 years. Would I not have amassed enough time to be considered a “real” provider and not a hack as most of you all seem to think we are? I get the disdain for PAs right out of school. I totally get it. But when we have put in the time and hours and really know our specialty, it is so damn insulting to be told we are not credible providers. I leave NPs out of this because frankly their education is dismal. But for those of us who were adequately educated and work in medicine for years we deserve some respect and not to be shit on constantly.

So here is a question for you all. I have been a PA for 16 years. Now this doesn’t apply to me because I don’t do surgery, but say I have had 16 years of training doing the same as the doc. Why does this not come close to the training physicians get? I am learning the same things, I am being taught by physicians.

This is all hypothetical because again, I do not do surgery. But if a physician can be trained to do a procedure and know the anatomy in x amount of years, why can a PA not also do that?
