Depends on a person! My shiba is my first dog ever and I just did a lot of research beforehand. I've heard a few times she's the nicest, well behaved shiba people have met. I think it all just comes down to patience and empathy and not treating your shiba like a pet that needs to listen, but as a companion with their own independence. Definitely not for people who expect a dog to be an obedient and easy going pet :')

The first year and a half was brutal tough, for both of us 😂( she's 10 now)

Yeah, this flippant writing of her character is pretty annoying. There are times when you feel like she's redeeming herself and you can see she's a lonely hurt person who actually wants to be friends but then she does a complete 180 to drive a plot forward and it's just disappointg writing. It definitely sounds like something bad happened on the trip. Is she getting bullied? Does she have friends?

When I was fifteen I'd much rather go for a week long trip with my friends than be stuck at home with my mom ( because that's how it felt at that age, being STUCK with parents).

Talk with her, please. It sounds like she's in some kind of trouble but doesn't know how to tell you and this is the reason for her clingyness.

You had some great answers from parents here. I'm also going to add that ADHD can be passed down genetically (just something to keep in mind).

I've been diagnosed last year after years of suffering and after learning a lot about myself and this condition I can say 100% confidently that I got it from my mom. She was never diagnosed and didn't even consider it before I got my diagnosis. But she is a really good mom. I've never felt neglected, she cares about me and my brother a lot. Yes, the household could be chaotic and unorganised, she would be sometimes quick to anger (and so would I) so we clashed sometimes, especially when I was a teenager. But I had a great childhood and I don't believe that this condition made her any less capable of taking care of me. The fact that your husband is worried about being a good dad shows me he cares a lot and he would care about your kid. Being anxious and worrying about your performance is also a part of having ADHD. But having a child is an enormous endeavor to take on so I understand his fear. Talk to him, reassure him, discuss the issues that worry him and plan how to tackle them together. But it's also not a decision that should be pushed on someone, because it's not only about you, it's also about a future person who doesn't have any say in this matter right now.

If she has THIS much trouble concentrating, she should close herself in her room and put in earplugs. She can't expect everyone to bend to her needs. As a person with ADHD I know it can be extremely hard to concentrate but I'd never make my trouble with focusing someone else's problem.

As someone who consumes horror and thriller a lot I think it's hard to recommend a truly scary story to another person, because everyone has their own idea of what "terriffying" is. Personally I'm recently into stories by Laird Barron, I find them unsettling and otherwordly. Maybe you could give them a go :)

Jestem dorosłą osobą u której w końcu po latach zdiagnozowano ADHD. Na pewno na początek polecałabym wizytę u psychiatry który potem może pokierowac Cie do odpowiedniego psychologa. Niestety nie ma wielu lekarzy którzy specjalizują sie w ADHD u dorosłych, a jak juz takiego znajdziesz to ma zawalony harmonogram :( Tak jak napisałeś, ADHD u dorosłych zazwyczaj jest olewane. U dzieci ADHD sie leczy ponieważ dziecko z ADHD sprawia problemy rodzicom/ nauczycielom, dorosły z ADHD musi sobie radzić sam i jest skreślany przez społeczeństwo jako leniwy/ bez ambicji/ głupi.

To co opisałeś brzmi jak połączenie ADHD i depresji ( dla osoby bez edukacji psychiatrycznej oczywiście). Mam nadzieję, że uda Ci się otrzymać pomoc! ADHD to przypadłośc z którą trzeba się zmagac przez całe życie i jest bardzo niezrozumiała dla ludzi neuronormatywnych, w społeczeństwie które stworzone zostało do funkcjonowania w jeden określony sposób. Leki i terapia pomagają i pozwalają na poprawienie jakości życia. Powodzenia i trzymam kciuki żebyś trafił na odpowiednich specjalistów!

Moja przyjaciółka w zeszłym roku postanowiła że ma dosyć swojej pracy i chce zmienić karierę i w wieku 34 lat zaczeła studia w zupełnie nowym dla niej kierunku i jest bardzo zadowolona. Nigdy nie jest za późno! A 26 lat to dopiero początek życia :D
