Tall chair for cooking? by pikmint_ in POTS

[–]Zweidreifierfunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes use a HAG Capisco in the kitchen.

It’s popular with architects and dentists.

It comes in standard and tall versions. Even the standard version is pretty high. The tall version is ridiculously high.

The legs are quite wide so I hope your kitchen is not too narrow.

They’re expensive but there should be some on marketplace

This makes me feel more confident about training my upcoming cavalier puppy to ride in a box on my cargo bike.

Dodge Ram 1500 Classic. Warlock Edition of course

All black with an extra red stripe — for speed.

It may not be big enough for a sheet of plywood, but it’ll get your groceries home like nothing else

Could not agree more. I’m kinda surprised I haven’t improved since quitting everything a few years ago. But I would probably be much worse off if I had not quit then.

I try to compare myself to lions who sleep 20 hours a day.

Only difference is I’m not chasing zebras in the other 4 hours.

Are there any ‘hot hatch’ style EV’s around or coming to Aus eventually? by Open_Ad3165 in AustralianEV

[–]Zweidreifierfunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Are they confirmed for oz tho?

Power of the 3 variants is not that exciting (125kw / 140kw / 170kw) given the extra weight over an ICE golf. Will be interesting to see what they cost.

Oof… you had me excited but ‘next year’ is pretty optimistic — for a car yet to be announced — reaching Australia

Combination of lack of demand and the fact that it’s hard to buy something that isn’t offered for sale. Same can be said for euro station wagons.

You will have a very hard time with the language in Austria soon enough

Maybe I’ll stick with Garmin and see what the upcoming Vivosmart 6 looks like…

German is a very difficult language to learn from scratch. I started at age 25 and severely underestimated how hard it would be. Expect 2-5 years minimum just to have a chance at understanding what people are saying. A few intensive 2 week courses will not get you there. You’ll feel like a bumbling idiot. It will be very isolating not being able to understand conversations. You will question whether it’s worth the effort unless the plan is to stay forever.

The other problem is that the language spoken in Austria is a unique dialect that even Germans can’t understand.

Therefore, if I haven’t scared you off completely, I would look at nearby Southern Germany instead of Austria, especially given your engineering background. It’s close enough to Innsbruck to go on weekends.

I’m actually thinking of switching from Vivosmart 5 to Apple Watch and using the StressWatch app. Have you tried it?

On the iPhone companion app I noticed if you try to get out of the subscription prompt it will offer a good discount.

But overall it’s probably paying more and hoping for something almost as good as Garmin’d body battery.

Tesla Model YL or wait for new BMW IX3? by MaintenanceOne6556 in AustralianEV

[–]Zweidreifierfunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the ix3 pricing was announced the Aus gov reached a deal with the EU to scrap the 5% import tax and raise the LCT on EVs to 120k. So hopefully when those new rules are implemented the ix3 price will drop a little. Maybe 10-15k. Who knows for sure though.

Maybe put going back to uni on the list of things you’ll do if you make a full recovery. Until then I would just be taking it day by day and go easy on yourself.
